ok, the charger alarms and says something like "battery disconnection". it does not do that on the good pack.

also, i am new to the charging of lipo's....my charger wants me to set an amperage for charge/discharge.

what do i set it at for a 5000mah 40c pack? (defaults to 0.1A)

Charge at 5 amps for that pack.

You wanna charge lipos at 1c. For example if it's a 3000mah pack, you would charge it at 3 amps, 4000mah at 4 amps, 5000mah at 5 amps. get it?

5 amps will be the max on charging amps. That's where I charge mine, rule of thumb is mah is divided by 1000.

The internal voltage on the "shorted" pack is below what the charger sees as normal. Do you have an old ni-cad or ni-mh charger with a trickle or adjustable voltage. The pack "may" be saved, again I've seen a bud rescue one before. You have to add voltage very slowly to get the pack up to the normal voltage. Do this outside in a safe location, and keep an eye on it.

i think the only difference between the 2 is the connector
(direct has one and the other has the "holes")

Got my SC10 fixed, hot lapped it in my buddies basement. Will post videos soon.

TOTALLED MY JATO. I seriously had it fixed for 3 or 4 hours, (took apart completely, new throttle servo, cleaned EVERYTHING, etc etc) was driving around in a parking lot, took off moving pretty good then picked up some interference or something, lost control and SMACK in to the curb. Some homie sitting at sonic said, "DAYYUM". Pretty sure it bent my chassis up and I know that it crack the new servo, and the plate that everything mounts to.

    FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!

It definitely wasn't out of range. But, I was in a more "crowded area" as far as interference would go. I'll post up some pics within the hour.

Are you working with 27Mhz or 2.4Ghz? Also, you're not running on the new spektrum DSMX are you? Say something if you are, theres a recall on DSMX stuff.

For the guys talkin about charge rates, most of the newer packs can handle easily 3C charge. If you have a higher rated battery, such as a 30C or 40C pack, you should be able to pump 5C into them no problem. I've been charging all my new packs at max rates and had no issues. Lipos have greatly improved over the years.

I've been pumpin 20A charge into my new Turnigys, and recently started charging my packs in parallel, since I run two packs at once. 12S 3000A pack baby :D Lasts me a whoppin 5-6 minutes!
