ok man thanks well i have no muffler now with about 6' of 3" pipe. so it is like half 2.25" and half 3" and no problems have been presented. i just want to put some kind of muffler to raise my hp back up from not having one...with the new 3" pipeing i have not noticed any power loss. it still feels the same as the loss i got when i cut my muffler out

the half and half pipe sizes does give it a very nice deep tone though

yea well it not gonna stop your truck from running, might be running a bit richer i think. But i bet the acceleration took a bit of a hit. Can you run the 3'' pipe? Sure. The HP lose isn't monumental..but to me, 5hp on our engines is a lot.

Alright, sorry I didn't post these sooner as I know this is an uber important and pressing issue...

Here's pics of my 17" blades with some measurements from the molding. If If get a 19" blade, I assume that's an extra inch on top and bottom of the blade...

Driver's side blade at the top of its "wipe." I have approx. 5-3/4" from the bottom of the blade to the molding.
    IMG_0903_0af2ba1242ac4ec99948387be5530c93bbcebc31.jpg

Driver's side, top. I have approx. 1-3/8" from the top of the blade to the molding.

    IMG_0904_9325470e2c5688eb51d9a628b7ee7eedcc6c8682.jpg

That "arc" pattern we were talking about on the driver's side. Looks like it's just shy of 7" in width at the widest portion of the "arc"

    IMG_0905_ecf929330d5422b25df507b861f619b0fa0b6b26.jpg

Passenger side. Looks like I have 3/8" from the bottom of the blade to the molding.

    IMG_0906_3ffacd9a4e55b1d55b10b15726b8df8e845b581c.jpg

That all said... Seems like 18" on the passenger side might be too long because theoretically I should have at least a 1/2" for it to not hit the molding, right?

And 19" on the driver side should theoretically work because I have more than an inch clearance on both the top and bottom.

I default to you, the engineer, for your advice.

    Important stuff... I know

I know I've read threads on here before about converting a 98-99 to a 96-97.

    Kind of a PITA, right?

Need new grille, headlights, hood, fenders - 1/4 panels...

    Or am I mistaken?

got my rear bumper painted black, debadged the truck... Anyone have any good tips on getting the oxidation of the paint around where the letters used to be? Im thinking a good rubbing compound, maybe a clay bar and a good coat of wax?
