Ill probably do a cycle eventually... I know a few people who have done cycles with proper pct and had good gains no side effects to speak of. I wont do some crazy stack, but I am planning a cycle if I can stay injury free for at least a year

so yesterday was an a burn out day for arms. weighted (45 pound weight on my back)triceps push-ups (go to failure), hammer curls 10 reps as heavy as i could then 10 more 10 pounds lighter, skull crushers and then isolation curls 12 per side. did that 4 times (yes that is all it took to burn my arms our (they are still weak) then core, then some sprints then 30 minutes of stair climbers. my hamstrings still hurt from Wednesday and today i went on a nice little 7.5 mile run today (my legs are really stiff now).

When I was checked last I was around 10%, I think I'm a little bit below that...But I don't have a solid answer for ya.

Had no idea what pro hormones were, so I looked it up on Wikipedia. I personally wouldn't take them...

"A typical prohormone is intended to be a precursor of an anabolic steroid like testosterone, which is taken in order to boost the body’s available hormone supply. These precursors are intended to be converted to full, active hormones via an enzymatic process that occurs during metabolism, typically resulting in the addition of whichever atoms happen to be missing from the chemical structure of the compound.
Prohormones are used mainly by athletes looking to increase size, strength, endurance, reduce recovery time or add lean body mass. They are most often used for increasing muscle mass or reducing body fat levels. Life extension groups are also increasingly using prohormones as a means of hormone replacement therapy, as an alternative to prescription drug use. Additionally there is a movement to use prohormones of androgens to help offset the damaging effects of environmental androgens on the body. Chemical endocrine disruptor agents like bisphenol A are becoming recognized as having the ability to skew the androgen to estrogen ratio. This skewed ratio can have many bad effects on men, including sexual performance, impotence and other testosterone dependent body functions.
The use of prohormones has become popular among bodybuilders, since the effects can be similar (though normally much less drastic) to those achieved through the use of synthetic anabolic steroids, including gains in muscular strength and hypertrophy. There are currently many companies manufacturing prohormone products for this purpose.
Prohormones have the same side effects as anabolic steroids, and are dependent upon the user as to which side effects one might experience. Some side effects are acne, hair loss, breast tissue enlargement, and prostate swelling however these are specific to each type of prohormone and reports of side effects are usually very minimal.
The potential for these side effects does exist, but it can be reduced if one uses proper precautionary measures such as post cycle therapy (PCT).[citation needed] Generally, if a person is genetically predisposed to a side effect it will occur (i.e.: if someone has a history of male pattern baldness in the family, it could be assumed that this could be a side effect experienced if prohormones are used)"

I picked up one of those scales that estimates BF%, must use bioelectric impedence. Don't think it's that accurate though. How do you usually check yours?

I might just have to book an underwater weigh to get an accurate number.

We were getting checked with a handheld thingy after getting weighed. They put our weight in and our age and had us hold it out at arms length...was pretty weird, seems pretty inaccurate.

I've been checked with the caliper before, that seems pretty decently accurate.

If I ever do it, I already know what my first stack will be. I did a ton of homework on this when I was on my 4 month long plateau

Yeah, the scale uses the same thing as the handheld. I'll pick up some calipers and compare results

    My best guess...

BOD POD (Air Displacement) - Based on the same principle as underwater weighing, the BOD POD used computerized sensors to measure how much air is displaced while a person sits for 20 seconds in a capsule. It uses a calculation to determine body density, then estimated body fat.

Or else Bio-Impedance is a means of measuring electrical signals as they pass through the fat, lean mass, and water in the body. Through laboratory research we know the actual impedance or conductivity of various tissues in the body, and we know that by measuring current between two electrodes and applying this information to complex proven scientific formulas accurate body composition can be determined.

I assume he meant Bod Pod. Its a relatively large, egg-shaped chamber that measures body composition via air displacement. Its pretty fairly accurate in assessing body fat percentage. Failure to adhere to specific testing criteria can report large errors, though.

The skinfold measurement (using calipers) has a margin of error of about 3-4%, which is pretty good. However, a skilled technician is needed to use calipers because there are more than 400 equations to use that have been developed in research studies based on the person being measured. Most fitness gyms only know 1 or 2 equations (male vs female), so can't get very good results at all.

Using bioelectrical impedance analysis is fairly accurate, too (error of 3-4%). This has the same complications as above with the equations being used (unless you use one of those cheap scales that actually present you with a number), as well as restrictions on food, alcohol, and exercise prior to the test.

By far the two most accurate BF% measurement systems used are the underwater weighing method and the Dexa Scan. The Dexa Scan is pretty sweet, because aside from being the most accurate method, its easy to use and can also report a very accurate measurement of bone density.

Hope this answers the measurement questions.

Edit: Guy above me explained some of it first.
