So I just bought my first Tacoma, its a 2001 4x4 trd. My front shocks are bad and I bought Bilstein 5100's and when I went to replace them, the first shock I went to remove gave me trouble so Im stuck until I get parts. The 3 bolts on the strut mount on top are rusted badly and the 3rd that I was working on loosened for about 5 turns and then the bolt turned with the nut and is stuck like that. Where can I get the replacement peice with the bult "lugs" so I can continure with the upgrade. Not really sure if its a strut mount or what you call it. Any help is very much appreciated.. Thanks Kenny

I used grade 8 bolts and they work very well....just cut them off and do that or you will have to buy that whole top plate assm.

pics will help us!! a grinder is your friend sometimes, so is a torch, and... crap i forgot what that stuff is called that you spray on and it eats all the rust away and helps you get the nuts off.. hopefully someone else can chime in

PB Blaster. Depending on how bad the rust is, though, cutting and replacing may be the better option.
