Is Bridgeport safe for a stock DC 4X4 Offroad with rugged fails? Or, do I need lift and sliders.

Sliders are always good to have. I didn't have them on my first run out there and was fine. But the trip after I got them, they paid for themselves.

The "other site" has a trip to Alto planned in January that will be a 4x4 only trip that I plan on making it to. As for a TW meet; next spring we could try to find a place to have a "big meet" again like last year.

There are a lot of trails you can do with a stock 4x4 without sliders. I took my PreRunner (without locker) through a decent portion of the Spider Web without too many problems. I can say that I've seen a stock 4x4 do some pretty amazing stuff out there.

Brian: The sliders make you more couragious I believe.

I am just wanting to get out and see where I need to start spending money. I know the tires are junk.

I've seen stock 4x4 tacomas with rugged fails make it plenty of places out there with no sliders, the only time he got damage was on the rear bumper and exhaust tip because the back end was so low.

Cut to the end result and just buy a toy, lol. If you don't want to go that route; then a slight lift, sliders, and locker will put you in a really good position. Tires you already know about.

Trail rig is an awesome way to go...don't have to worry about screwing your DD. Although once you start Modding it it will never stop I'm sure..

If your gonna start Modding your DD I'd start with armour. FULL set of skids first so you can't screw up anything really important under there. Or sliders first..whichever. I'd try and focus on mods that will protect your truck as much as possible

Blonde paint job -A blonde, wanting to earn some money, decided to hire herself out as a handyman-type and started canvassing a wealthy neighborhood. She went to the front door of the first house and asked the owner if he had any jobs for her to do.

"Well, you can paint my porch. How much will you charge?" The blonde said, "How about 50 dollars?" The man agreed and told her that the paint and ladders that she might need were in the garage. The man's wife, inside the house, heard the conversation and said to her husband, "Does she realize that the porch goes all the way around the house?" The man replied, "She should. She was standing on the porch."

A short time later, the blonde came to the door to collect her money. "You're finished already?" he asked. "Yes," the blonde answered, "and I had paint left over, so I gave it two coats. "Impressed, the man reached in his pocket for the $50. "And by the way," the blonde added, "that's not a Porch, it's a Ferrari."

    x2

This is what I drove for a few weeks while my 86 chevy couldn't pass emissions because of the headers I put on. It was my grandpas truck from Oregon, and he beat the piss out of it. But I cleaned it up and it looked brand new on the inside. Too bad it wasn't a diesel :( sold it to buy the Tacoma

Like a double cab tundra? Yeah kinda cause crewmax tundra 4x4s are hard to come by in my price range with a 5.7

Seriously Colin just get on edmunds and other truck review sites and read the reviews people who have ACTUALLY OWNED the truck think, not like you are worried about payload or anything

I have done that for the Rams and surprisingly there where hardly any bad reps, a lot of positive things to be said. All hell yeah I have to worry about payload, u know much weight 10 people are when carrying them in the bed, happens more than u think

I'd like to make a long road trip, but don't think I'll be able to for a while.

I'll go check it out. I've been kinda like a ghost on both sites lately.
