The tire I have now is great just bad on gas. I will be going from a 305 to a 285 no matter what tire I get. I am on the lease a lot that is right now mud mud muddy roads! Then just trail riding with a mix but mostly muddy lease and field roads.

I dunno man, if you use it a lot like that snap in your sig, I'd stay with the MTZs.

That's one of the roads on the lease. I wouldn't mind staying with them just wanting better milage I know going down a size will help and maybe a less aggressive tire. So that just makes it a hard decision.

How much will the mileage gain net you $ wise compared to the net cost of the new tires?

mickey alway's makes a good tire imo. i looked at the atz myself but, not a ot of guy's run them on here so no real easy to find reviews of them.

now i had a set of the duratracs and they kicked major ass! the only and i mean only negative thing i could say about them is that they had a tendency to wander a bit on the highway and around town. i suspected this was due to the tremendous amount of sipe's on the tire you can't do that to the lugs and expect no movement lol.

thats also what makes them so great so i dealt with it and it was a very minor thing as well not bad in any way just enough for me to notice it. i had them on my truck when i first bought it so it was brand new stock suspension and perfectly aligned take it for what its worth.

i also really like the cooper stt they look excellent.

I need new tires anyways just unsure what I want. So really the net gain isn't an issue. Im going a size smaller so I know I'll gain just a little.

duratracs or mickey's either is an excellent tire man flip a coin.

the only reason i would say the mickey's are a better tire is i'm not sure how much winter weather you get there if you get snow a couple months out of the year then go for the if not i vote atz or mtz.

At the 285/75R16 size, I bet you can't tell a measurable difference in MPGs between the three tires you've listed.

The main diff will be (no particular order)
    wet pavement traction
    snow traction on pavement
    snow traction off pavement
    mud traction
    tire noise at highway speed
    how long they last

they're all heavy high-rolling-resistance tires, and that's gonna suck down the emm-pee-gees.

The set I have now cost me 1,100 mounted and balanced. My new set if I go with these again will be 1,250 mount and balanced the prices have gone up but not bad for a quality tire.

I ckecked on all three sets and they are all around the same price. The goodyears are actually more than the two sets of Mickeys for some reason.

Not sure how good the new ATZs are but I had the Baja Radial MTXs on my Jeep back in 2000. They f'n sucked...they were almost bald after 1 year (15k miles). Not sure if the newer series have a harder tread compound
