i have always liked the tacoma and the sr5 truck. now i am considering getting a truck and want to do some research before i actually take the plunge. i currently own a '10 mitsubishi lancer evolution and an '09 subaru wrx sti. both are fun cars but i want something with more utility.

Will you have to get rid of either of your cars? Or will you be able to keep them?

your funny cause that's exactly the reason i want a truck too. last winter was the 2nd year in a row of winter storms that dropped up to 12 inches of snow on different occasions. the sti with winter tires did the trick but the extra clearance would make life a lot easier. but i have always wanted a toyota truck. so i think i am just creating excuses in order to justify getting one.

Really 3 in of snow? You need a truck for that haha! Anyway to the OP I think you will find tacoma's are very fun vehicles to own drive and mod. You may want to look at X-Runners since it seems that you like speedy vehicles. Their relatively capable as trucks but also have much better on street performance than the pre-runner and 4x4 models

Financially, it already doesn't make sense having two cars. Adding a third would make it financially more difficult. Plus i dont have a house with a garage or driveway. City living is kind of crazy. I rent a garage where i store one of the cars when i am not using it. I am not even sure if i could park a truck in there as the cars barely fit. So the truck would be my daily and the car would be a weekend car or when i need to drive my sick parents to dr's appointments. One is in a wheelchair and the other suffers from alzheimers and severe osteo-arthritis so stepping into a truck is out of the question for both.

It looks like the Evo's as we know them will be endding soon. The next generation will be a hybrid diesel blend. Hopefully that car will maintain its value so i can get a good amount when i eventually sell it. After a few years of owning the subaru i feel lik ei know it better and apprecaite it more. So the Evo will have to go eventually and help me afford the truck and modifications.
