You shouldnt use anything unless you have vibes. Many vibes are from not torquing the nuts/bolts correctly.

Looked around and since new U-Bolts are $39 + shipping from Toytec I might as well get U-Bolt flip kit from All Pro which is $49 + shipping...

Now my question is... Will the U-Bolt flip kit work with stock bump stops???

I thought so I torqued mine way more than 37. I had to do this to get the original u-bolts to work with the Toytec add a leaf. I thought this was odd. Truthfully I was going to retorque to 37 in 500 miles so thanks I will do 80 ftlbs. On a side note I really do not trust anything I can't read in black and white however since Chris 4X4 said 75-85 is proper I will trust his good advice.

FYI , the FSM and my Haynes say 37 in black and white . Luckily Chrisnot4x4 saved the day !

Thanks so much 2x4 , who else could have possibly known the 37 ftlbs was wrong ?

Damn.. U bolts are 40 bucks?... they are a bent 2 threaded bolt... it may be a higher grade bolt than your regular swingset bolt... but 40 bucks seems very " what the traffic will bear" price

Yeah, the real ones are grade 8, fine thread, and the nuts are taller than a garden-variety nut. High grade washers, too.
Some of the aftermarket U-bolts don't look very special as compared to what you would get from a spring shop.

$10 a piece is about right.

Yep.. I guess that makes sense.. Fine thread.. special nut and washers. I guess I never really thought about it.. the only lift I have ever done had the U bolts included... I am glad they were... I would have been pissed:eek:
