the sliders and stuff arent absolutely necessary...........but they are good insurance so to speak. the first meet...................me and nate didnt have any protection........all i had was nerf bars, and they saved my rockers a couple of times.

Sliders are def. something I would like to have before we head out. I have the good ole nerf bars but they are bolted to the under side of the body so they would probably do more harm than good.

yeah....definitely bro. frame mounted nerfs would be a bit better......at least for not tearing up the body mounts. you can get a set of sliders like mine for a good price though....just gotta weld them on.

Good news, I got the Icons on my truck. By myself. Easy. Didn't bother trying the UCAs. Adjusted them down to 1" of preload and now it sits level or a little higher in front. Still gotta bolt up skids and obviously winch and bumper so I'm not worried.

Bad news, while I was taking the truck off the jackstands the hilift handle got away from me and caught my thumb. 7 hours at the ER later and I found out I broke the tip of my thumb bone off. So I got a bunch of percocet and a fancy thumb splint and I didn't have to go to work today. Getting used to monkey gripping everything with my left hand and I think I'll still get at least the front skid bolted up and the front sitting even (pass. side is an inch higher right now). Might fuck with wiring too. Not sure just yet.

So yea, watch your hilift handles. Especially when the majority of the weight shifts from opposite jack stand to hilift jack. It's ouchy.

To any medical types, it's called a Tuft fracture.

Oh man, I can't imagine how bad that hurt. Just barely smashing your finger is bad enough. I feel for you man. Good luck with those skids!

Lol and the wife was at drill. And she locked her keys in her trunk. And I had to bring her the spare set. Wrapped up thumb real quick, took some meds (being a medic kicks ass), took truck off jack stands, tightened the wheels. Drove wife her keys and then we went to the ER. Haven't taken any pain meds since last night. It's actually not that bad. Haven't tried playing xbox yet though. 4-6 weeks and I'll be good. Might lose a thumb nail. I don't think so though.

Nice! Looks like I will be going to Fayettville and hooking up with everyone to make a grand entrance once we get there.

I hope it is a good one too. Do most folks sleep in tents or do they just sleep in the trucks?
