Sick, this is my first winter I'm actually driving it also. Did you do some undercoating? I hit mine twice to make sure it stays nice.

What undercoating product did you use? Does that void the frame replacement warranty thing?

I used Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protector. It goes on as an oily spray and creeps into all the cracks and holes around the frame. It dries in about a day. It also acts as a lubricant for the suspension parts. And it does not void the frame warranty.

Ok so I have been working on this for the last ~2 weeks. Being a full-time student I dont have tons of $ to throw at my truck so I am a major fan of DIY. I have done a fair amount of blacksmithing but never any serious welding before. So for my first major welding project/fabrication project what do you think? :)

I ended up using bed-liner coating... idk if i'm quite pleased with it though so I may just do regular paint on the front...

Looks nice! Those are some nice looking welds for someone with little experience.

ehhh..i don't think a roller is a good idea. Will be hard to get in the spaces. Plus the spray gets the inside of the rim a bit too which helps..

Haha. I got ya. I should probably do the same thing. I'm going the plasti route just to see if I will like it on my truck. Then do something more permanent if I do.

I used two cans of plastiderp for the outside (1 for each coat) and one can of cheap ass spray paint for the inside when i did mine.

Just barely enough. If you're in a warm climate and have more patience, use three cans and do more/lighter coats then me.

I'm very happy with the results.

Cool. I grabbed the last three cans from Lowes this weekend. Was hoping it would not take more.

I'm confused, i thought you just said you didn't do it, and photoshopped your ride instead?

I've actually done it, and along with many others on this site, it's working perfectly.

    *edit* just re-read,

If you have no qualms about permanently painting your rims, skip the Derp. Me, i want to be able to return the faces to stock when i sell 'em once i can free up $350 for the rims i want.
