Yeah, but that's good piece of mind, I'd def get those UCA Shear plates on there before New Years.

Well the proper way to weld over cracks is to drill out holes at each end of the crack then groove the crack slightly so the weld sits in further, then weld it, then grind it down smooth (optional step)

 

i try not to miss any dune trips

okay ill order the coil bucket gussets. ill probably see if brandon has a couple hours one day to weld those for me.

Good Def get those plates/rings made for the top of the coil buckets made too before New Years (and weld the cracks obv)

Yeah, if you don't do that, the crack is more likely to start again.

 

Don't know if Kyle Green's make them for 1st Gens tho

I wouldn't, just easier to pinch them between the bolts are it'll give the most strength, as if you weld it you'll have to pinch (bolt them down) them first so they're nice and tight top and bottom.

 

Eric I can weld that stuff for you. Cracks, UCA gusset, whatever. Just have to bring the truck to me though cause my welder is a big old one

Also, here's what I was talking about when I say that the Coilbucket remains in place with a 12" CO and the top cut out, It's Vi's truck, but they have cut the top off and then plated the front of it, he actually isn't running UCA Shear Plates but I still recommend get them

my dad is bringing home his welder... he said he will weld it for me, not sure how good he is, probably the same as me... i think me and him will just weld the cracks and then you can help with the uca gusset? or i can just go bother brandon for a day
