Thanks dude! Makes me want to get out there and see what this thing can do. Should be able to crack it open this week if I can get enough done at work, and with the move the girlfriend and I are getting for.

I hate the wheels that come on the SCX10 now, so I'm planning on ordering a set of the black 8-hole Axial Beadlock wheels, and either the Ripsaws, Flat Irons or Pit Bulls at some point.

I'm worried that the slowness is going to get boring after a while, so I'm in the market for a basher currently. The Slash and HPI Blitz are at the top, now that I heard the SC10 was more of a racer.

Sorry it took me so long to get back...I had a piled up honey-do list at the GF's house...

Anyhow, I was looking at the Evader brushless set-up, it's more of a monster truck I suppose but for plugging away around here it would probably serve my purposes (bashing stuff, jumping dirt piles and tree roots) than a short course truck. Didn't know if anyone had any experience with one or not though.

From the vids posted, I like the speed capabilities of the Slash with a brushless and LiPo set-up but not sure if the wheel travel and traction capabilities are there for primarily grass running and semi-urban thrashing.

A short course style truck isn't gonna go very well in medium to tall length grass unless it's brushless and 4x4. If you plan on it seeing a lot of grass something like the evader might be a better choice. Taller tires, more ground clearance.

Can't go wrong with either one of those. The Blitz is my favorite SC truck, but I happened to get a awesome deal on my Slash, so I went that rout.

My 2wd SC and stadium truck drive through tall grass no prob.

Bloodhound, have you thought about a stadium truck? something like a E-Firestorm. That was my very first hobby grade r/c and that thing is a blast! Had it for over a year and only broke one a arm.

    Check it out

The Evader I was interested in is very similar to the Firestorm. I haven't been in the RC game for about...let's put it this way, Team Losi was pushing Brian Kinwald JrXT's and associated had just released the RC10T B3...it's been a while. Back then I wanted to build a short couse truck to race in the buggy class but couldn't find the proper width front wheels to make it look right. I only remembered the stadium trucks being raced as a "truck" class.

Thanks for the help guys, I'm trying to get caught up again but the local hobby stores are all pro-nitro and I just haven't had much luck with them reliability wise..so I'm probably gonna be bugging you guys with more questions and opinion requests.

Edit: if this is difficult to read I apologize, fat thumbs+smartphone=poor typing

Is this just a slash with jato a-arms in the front?

Thinking about LT'ing my SC10 with the RPM arms....

I would mind possibly racing every so often...I don't think electric is very popular around here anymore though. Mainly nitro tracks/classes (and the track owner is a complete nitro snob allegedly).

I remember that Losi but I've always ran 2wd classes. I had a Schumacher Cat and Yokomo YZ-10 that I intended to race but I never got them set-up to my liking.

I'd check out the HPI Blitz (HPI's plastics are very durable). You could race it if you ever wanted to.

Ah, I know which one your talking about now. Those awesome for bashing! Plus, Duratrax has a 1 year warranty on their parts, so if you happen to break something, they replace it for free.

It's pretty much stock. He just has different shocks, springs and oil. LT that bitch, son!! haha... My front LT arms come in today from FLM! :D...Bout time because they were supposed to come in last week

I can vouch for this! My Firestorm was bullet proof. A Blitz is pretty much a lenghtened Firestorm with SC body.

It seems like the Firestorm would almost be better for bashing. Every video I've watched of the Blitz has it bottoming out hard over every jump. Seems like it would get the shit beat out of it.

I'm sure there are aftermarket shocks you can get to stiffen it up, but it just doesn't seem like it'd be the best basher. Although, even in all of the videos of it slamming the ground, it just keeps on going, and going, and going...

It's kinda hard to say which would be the better basher between the Blitz and Firestorme. They're both pretty much the same thing, except the Blitz is a little longer. The Firestorme would be a little lighter, so I guess thats one advantage. A couple of my buddys have Blitz's and they never bottom out (all we do is bash) so it all depends on how you have it setup.

But, yeah... The Firestorm is a FUCKING BLAST!! I've been thinking about buying another one from Towerhobbies using their Easypay program, sooo tempting!
