i ordered the dual HO 10" w3v3 jl sub system from
    http://www.sonicelectronix.com/?gclid=COXCtcXb9qwCFQpS7AodtjNBSA
I found them on there for 449.00

I then found it on MSW for 439.00
    through ebay.
well I checked MSW's actual website and they had it listed for 339.00 there.

i didnt like the item description page on the MSW website. So i got Sonicelectronix to price match. They gave me a discount code so i got it for 339.00 shipped!

im putting this system in my Car that i drive to work.

OP: I wouldn't sweat it too much, 06SR5 hates all the big brands, generally preferring the boutique companies like Sundown.

1 sa 10 would likely destroy 4 jl w 3 tens in ouput at a fraction of the price

    How do you quantify "destroy"?

I've never heard any sunddown audio subs in person but of all the sub's that I have heard the JL's beat out everything else. They are the best imo but just a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

Everything else being whatever bestbuy had on display?? The sa series are pure beast for the price. Jls just seem cheaply built for what u pay. Box power and vehicle play a huge roll in how a sub will sound

Exactly!! You say one SA will destroy 3 JL's, and then you state that there is much more to it than simply what sub you use. There are TONS of variables, and "buy Sundown" isn't the answer to all of them.

For the record, I don't own anything made by JL, but it isn't because their stuff is crap, it is overpriced. But it fills a niche in the market. Deal with it, and start adding productive input to the A/V forum. If someone asks "which JL sub?" don't say, "JL sucks." Speak to their actual question and then include "but if you want more for your money you might look at some of the other brands out there."

Most people aren't idiots, they are uninformed. Telling them they are idiots is unhelpful AND inaccurate. TW.com is pretty cool, because people provide their knowledge to help others out. Join the movement.

I think based on published data I have to raise the BS flag.

A 10" JL Audio W3 has 14mm of linear one-way excursion and an efficiency of almost 85 dB.

Sundown Audio (SA) doesn't publish all their specs, and my copy of the Bass Box Pro software doesn't list them, but I have some serious doubt that the SA-10's one way linear excursion would exceed the 56mm needed to equal 4 JL W3s. The SA-10's published 81 dB sensitivity implies that 'one on one' the SA would need 2.5 times the power to hit the same SPL as the JL product.

Disclaimer(s): I don't run JL subs, my speakers were made by Seas of Norway. Everything I've read implies the SA woofers are a very good value.

Well said. And the efficiency of the entire 'system' of 4xJL10w3's would really be 91db since you gain 3db every time you double the cone area. So you'd need a hell of a lot more power for the SA-10 to even come close. Both are good subs though.

Not quite the same quality as what the OP bought, but definitely a good deal to add a little low end extension to your truck. Well done!

JL w3's are great subs, and that's a good buy, those usually go for 150 a pop without an enclosure
