I'm trying to get rid of my tube bumper because I want/need something I can mount a winch to. I have people interested, one option im considering is $250 plus a stock bumper to get me by... Just curious what years will fit my truck? 95.5-2000? 2001-2004?
also any suggestions for a good looking (cheaper than $600) front winch mounting option for a first gen?

Lots of options for a 1st gen winch bumper under $600:

4x innovations, Avid offroad, Trail gear, All Pro, Beefed Taco (he's on TW, he does custom stuff)....and a few others I cant remember right now

And why not just keep the bumper you have now till you can save up enough, then sell the bumper you have now and get the bumper you want instead of getting a stock bumper you will just have to remove and re-sell?

    ALL OF THEM!...Then some more.
Only 98-00 with fit your truck without additional modification. The fenders and side marker lights are all a bit different in the other eras of first gens.

on a side thought..you can't really mount a winch to a stock bumper..only after market. Id look into plate bumpers. Elite Off Road, Relentless Off Road, ARB, Shockworks to name a few.

so sorry for thread jacking but after looking aorund i've noticed that for 98-2000 on most front bumpers you need to cut some of the front parts of the frame so u can weld a insert piece therefore allowing u to bolt ur new bumper to the frame.

my question is will a small little 90 amp wire feed welder be strong enough to weld that insert piece and be able to hold the weight of the bumper possibily with some winching?

or do i need to get a bigger welder?

As long as your welds are good, you should be fine!

I have an 85 amp farmhand wire feed welder, and it works great and the welds are strong (as long as I'm not welding :D)
