Skip a scheduled maintenance interval?

I recently bought a used 2008 Taco TRD Offroad from a dealership with about 26,000 miles on it. It's in very good condition and came with the 100,000 mile extended warranty (FWIW). I've put another 15,000 miles on it and now I'm not sure where to pick up with the regular maintenance schedule... I've changed the oil & rotated the tires regularly but that's it. It's at about 41,000 miles now. It did not come with a Scheduled Maintenance Guide (I just downloaded it) so I'm not sure what was done by the previous owner.

Would you guys recommend backtracking to start with the 30,000 mile service, or do you think I could pick it up with the 45,000 (or even wait until 60,000) interval? I plan to stick to the schedule from here on, but I'm not sure where to start.

I appreciate any advice you can provide.

Don't take this as gospel but I bought a 2003 Tacoma new and got the extended warranty, even though I probably shouldn't have. Got free oil changes for the extended warranty period but that's about all. Oh, I did get free car washes but they sucked at it so told them not to do it.

Fast forward eight years (now 113,400 miles), still on original spark plugs (part of 30,000 mile service), second battery, third set of tires, second set of front brake pads, original brake shoes on the rear and a few light bulbs.

The truck runs great except for that nagging cold start tapping!

BTW, mine is a four cylinder with the timing chain. If you have the V6, I would probably do the timing belt to avoid some major catastrophe later.

 

You're at 113,400 miles on the original plugs? Were they platinum/long life?

He bought a 2008. Timing chain, not belt.

 

For your next service, I'd change the plugs, front diff and x-fer case oils (if 4x4, you did not specify if it was 4x4 or Prerunner), rear diff oil, check the air filter and cabin air filter (change if needed). I actually did all of the above at 40k miles, will change the transmission fluid at 60k miles (should have done it at 50k but got tied up with other stuff at the time).

I will call the garage to see how much for a 30k service. I do the oil change/tire rotations myself, but I'd like to have an actual (hopefully) competent mechanic look at for the larger service intervals. Also, I have to drive it back to the east coast (from Nevada) in the spring, and I won't get it to the 60k service by then...

Oh, I forgot, I also lubed the universal joints, changed the rear end oil (just because) and the transmission screen/filter at 60,000 miles.

On a side note, I changed the engine oil yesterday and a headlight bulb died after that. I drive with my headlights on day or night! After changing the bulbs in the dash this past summer, I now dim the dash lights during the day! That was not an easy job.
