Hold VSC button ( car with squiggly lines ) in for 5 seconds while stopped , this will " disable " the traction control

Yep. Hold it down and then the lights for traction control off will come on and auto LSD will come on. Once that happens, have fun!

    1) The VSC OFF button is in this group... STOP the truck, and push and HOLD DOWN for a few seconds:

    1-26-11014_2bf5fe4444b55452650b2afc2775ff632259b9bf.jpg

    This light will come on:

    1-26-11013_05d1f707c3a1c5b1c82b4e510f94c4b96562fe76.jpg

KEEP IN MIND, that if the truck feels threatened and close to tipping over, it will re-activate the Vehicle Stability Control to save itself, even it you want to roll it.

AUTO LSD IS TRACTION CONTROL... It is MORE control than that standard TRAC limited slip system. AUTO LSD is turned on with just a quick push of the VSC OFF button, moving or stopped. This is what it looks like under 30 mph:

    1-26-11012_2d80078b1525b690dafcfd6a9dc2af7b3e977e3b.jpg

Above 30 mph, the VSC turns back on.

I had a 2005 with a rear locker, before trading it for the 2010... Believe me, it is a night and day difference in how the new truck climbs and pulls and travels off road. I know now why the expensive four wheelers (Lexus, Land Cruiser, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser) all got the traction controls and A-TRAC before us pick up trucks did... We obviously don't seem sophisticated enough for this level of science (at least until 2009). Just look at the childish comments that still get posted by the flat earthers here.

Most pick up truck drivers can't handle the new technology without bad-mouthing and making fun of it. If they were alive in 1492, they would have bet Columbus would have sailed off the edge of the world.

I have never read any comments where someone has bad mouthed ATRAC in itself...everyone agrees it is a great system for easy to moderate terrain.

Seriously???? Why are you saying "everyone agrees it is a great system for easy to moderate terrain" when that is obviously false if you have been reading anything at all.

The Sport and Base Tacomas already are having a great experience just getting TRAC to work in L4 with the yellow wire mod... A-TRAC is far stronger than TRAC... You can do easy to moderate four wheeling with OPEN differentials and no traction control. Sad that you think the Toyota is not better with the A-TRAC or that you obviously haven't seen A-TRAC stock Toyotas at Moab and other places that only front & rear locked, modified 4WDs have only gotten through before.

A-TRAC only works in Low Range... and you don't need Low Range for "easy to moderate terrain"... at least I don't... maybe because I have been four wheeling for so long?

I'm sure you have seen some of the pictures and videos posted of the types of trails that I mostly do in my taco..how would you rate those trails? Would ATRAC and a rear locker alone get me through those trails? No it will not. So would it be safe to assume or state that ATRAC is great for easy to moderate trails?

They are great trails... and front and rear lockers are great for them!

You also have some serious suspension and ride height mods going for you. I think I would surprise you if you compare a STOCK Tacoma with A-TRAC to a STOCK Tacoma without... While I have gone to the same places I did with a rear locker on my earlier two Tacomas, the ease at which A-TRAC pulls this truck outweigh my previous twoo Tacomas with their rear locker and open front.

From the factory, without any after market mods (except maybe better tires that the BFGs), the Off Road 4WD Tacoma 2009+ is a superior off road machine to earlier TRDs and newer non-Off Road TRDs.

    That's all...;)

No money, all went to truck...
Quick question, way off the current discussion, more relevant to the original post:

Is ABS on all the time? Or does it shut off in 4L? I think I might have to do the ABS mod....

It shuts off in 4lo when you engage the locker.. atleast on the off road not sure about the sports.. do the abs mod.. I love mine. That and the locker anytime are the best mods I've done.

Don't forget that 2005-2008 4WD Off Road trucks did have the option to have traction control. It just wasn't called "A-TRAC", it was "TRAC" in 4L. Which in my opinion, are the same systems with a different name (I need to go follow an A-TRAC truck around to be 100% sure).
