I think your question has been answered. Alot of good advice has also been given but it sounds like your mind is made up. You can't really argue that adding a lift or mud tires will increase safety. The "safest" way to lift the truck would be a good suspension lift and the "safest" way to add bigger tires would be an all terrain.

There are several pages of responses where people have made suggestions as to which way to go. You have a nice, new $30k truck, why would you want to cheap out on the suspension? You blew $1,300 for an in-dash navigation system so you can obviously appreciate saving your money for a quality product. There are a lot of good reasons that spacer lifts are generally disliked. Fact is, they are cheap and they will lift your truck but there are much better options that do not have the pitfalls of a spacer lift. We've given you all the information you asked for so now it's YOUR truck it's time for YOU to make a decision.

Sorry for the youthful ignorance, I will take your advice and go with the bilstein lift. I appreciate all of your help and I am sure it will pay off in the long run. Ill call the lift guy and tell him to get me a price on the bilstein lift and install.

You would probably be better off and save money getting it yourself from DSM or then let him put it in. The guy you are talking to will probably make a little off of you on the parts.

    Edit: Fixed with links.

You forgot the trade for the H3 because it was cheaper to sell the used Taco for a brand new H3 with no payments
