just got 07 crewcab cause I no longer needed a full size PU , I was getting 19-20 on Hwy an 14-15 around town with my 2500 Chev Durmax so the only benfit I see so far to the Toy is easyer to get around town going have to have better gas milage

Sorry to hear you didn't do your research before you made your purchase.

 

Much as I love my truck, she doesn't get 30 mpg. Depending on how I drive I can get 21 - 22 with my cruise set.

What are your driving habits? Do you make rabbit starts and slam on the brakes at the last second? That could be part of the bad gas mileage

Get your foot out of it and you'll get 20 MPG with your V6 crew cab. I'm getting 20 with oversized A/T tires, a lift and 300 lbs in the bed between the fiberglass shell and tools.

Also, FWIW, my old man's Duramax gets 23 MPG on the highway so if you really want to spend the extra 10 - 15k to get a diesel, you'll get those extra 3 - 4 MPG and pay more for fuel...

 

if gas mileage was you concern, should've got the 4 cyl Tacoma . You could have done some research before hand and then made an informed descision.

I hit 23 mpg with my ARB bumper, winch, OME lift and 3 passengers, once but other than that i average 19 city and hwy mix.

My old 2.4l 5-lugger got 27 hwy quite often. Miss that but I rather have the 4wd and bigger cab. It's called sacrifice when your get a big engine.

You'll end up falling in love with your truck. As for MPG, I get about 24 at best when driving like a grandma. I avg about 18-19 driving normal, and I have a lead foot.

Welcome. Sorry to hear bout your problems, try changing your fuel and air filters. Might could get you some more MPG's. Good luck.

 

How fast are you guys that are getting 20+ mpg going?

I typically get 18-19 mpg, mostly highway. Around the MD/VA/DC area if you're going 75 thats too slow.

 

Usually slower. I get 20 commuting in and out of Boston but if I'm on the highway with the cruise set at 75 I drop to 17-18 MPG. I can get closer to 22 - 23 if I cruise at 40 - 50 MPH on back roads.
