Thanks to all of your help I have ordered the front bumper for my husband. I know this is going to fuel his desire to modify his truck even more. I know he is going to need to do some work to the suspension to accommodate the new bumper but I might leave that research up to him. But I thought I could check out a rear bumper now. Which one do you guys like and why?

    He has an 2011 Tacoma.

What did you end up getting?

EDIT I voted for ArmorTech. If I could I'd vote for both Relentless and ArmorTech.

I went with the ARB delux bull bar. :D But they do not make a rear bumper. Why did you vote for Armortech. What do you like about their bumper and dislike about others?

Yeah right, he still doesn't even know that I ordred it. Plus that sucker is heavy and he'll probably have to beef up the suspension in order to keep the truck from nose diving. ;)

    voted for Relentless.

Why? Because if I had a 2nd gen i'd love to have one of his high clearance rear bumpers.

I vote CBI. Can't tell if that is a choice since I am on my phone. I have one on my truck and it has been great. Great protection and an awesome product. Plus Nathan at CBI made sure all my questions were answered along with making sure I got the bumper I wanted/needed.

so I thought about my question and maybe this would be a better way to approach it. What features should a rear bumper have? Since style is so subjective what bells and whistles should I make sure the bumper has before I spend my hard earned $$$?

Jacking points, thickness, recovery points, etc.

lol i have been waiting for them to release the rear for over a year now:laughing:

personally i like cbi and relentless. for a bumper that you don't need to cut the bedsides go with relentless. for a true high clearance cbi makes a killer piece as does eric over at relentless both are in the running for me personally and only those 2.

hope this helps btw you have got to be the coolest wife next to mine of course :)

he is going to love it it is a stout piece if gear thats for sure.

edit: both the cbi and relentless are extremely stout! i don't think you would ever have to worry about strength with either of them also ato sorry i forgot to mention kevin he makes some bomber stuff as well.

on an unrelated note when you go for skids ato is the only maker i would buy from don't make the mistake of buying another brand his are insane tough but, they are heavy suckers lol. so when you do your suspension make sure he takes this into account as well.

yes they actually had it here last year in oregon for final approval but, then it was sent back to australia and they ended up scrapping the whole design again and this was not the first time this has happened!

i call every month or so to check up on it to see when those drunk australians will get there asses in gear and finish it up lulz. no word yet is all i ever hear

so as much as i love my arb bull bar up front and wanted to armor my truck with all their gear that apparently will never happen so i guess they loose out on my money lol.

cbi and relentless have some sweet looking rear armor as well and i'm positive their's will at least have recovery points

CBI...LOVE my bumper, one of the top mods I have done so far. the company is GREAT to work with, quality is second to none. It has never let me down, and I beat the crap out of it:

Even with the high clearance, it drug all the way up, but help up just prefect! Very stout:

That is a good looking set up you got there. I am wondering about the direct replacement vs. a high clearance. I like the thought of the high clearance but I don't like the thought of cutting the truck up.
