    Ultra gauge is better IMHO. Bigger and you can set alarms. It's also cheaper than SG

    Buddy of mine has all dash lights off and uses just a SG at night. you can change the color and it can save your night vision depending on the color used. Its accurate and displays up to four readings so it could be used as a replacement.

    now quick question before i order the ultra gauge my spedometer is broke in the gauge cluster and is controlled by a spedo cable, but i have a code for a vehicle speed sensor will the ultra gauge read my speed?

    If you're getting a code for the speed sensor then likely the ultragauge won't be able to read your speed until that sensor is replaced.

    I love my UltraGauge. The speedo seems pretty accurate, but I wouldn't want to just use the UG as my entire HUD/Cluster...

    Doesn't the computer read speed off the speedometer cable driving a sensor in the cluster? Or was I reading up on another vehicle?

    Yep. It's either the drive gear in the tranny or the sensor in the cluster

    Ok here it is, looks like error code P0500. It sorta got cut off but speedometer cable is at the list of trouble area on the bottom.

    save the money and get a whole new gauge cluster or,
    buy an aftermarket spedometer and mount somewhere interesting on truck?
