I have always liked the idea of the soft tops, but for the price why would want to get something that will not last as long as the truck? Also, with no security, potential leaks, etc? I understand the fold back out of the way when needed, but still? Explain to me why I would get this when I could get a fiberglass top for about $400 or so more?

Well just read this thread from page 1 on for your answer. I have a Softopper. Love it. A regular topper would be nice also but I decided to get the Softopper for the portability and easily folds for full use of the bed.

I have read thread after thread when they come up and I still can not see pulling the trigger on one of these soft tops over a fiberglass top. And, I like them. I guess I am looking for something different out of a cover. Security is a priority, which I guess is the main thing. A fiberglass top can be removed these days with two guys in about 15 minutes or less. Can not beat the on the fly fold back option of the soft top. But the fiberglass top will look good and last for years, with less maintenance, and the soft top will show wear over time, and it seems you will get friction wear on the paint of the tailgate over time where it flaps down on the tailgate. I use to like these soft tops because of the side access to the bed, but with the windoors available for fiberglass tops its not longer a problem. And, overtime resale value will be much higher if that is a concern.

^ Well I guess you need a fiberglass top if you want security. It will give you more piece of mind, but if a thief really wants to get in there he will.

I keep a portable tool box in mine but I lock it and use a bicycle lock through the tie down cleat. I considered a fiberglass top but I like folding the soft top or taking it off completely in a few minutes if I need to. Not to mention I love the way it looks with the windows off.

As far as "flapping down on the tailgate", The Softopper has an optional velcro strip that attaches to the tailgate, but the Bestop Supertop has a steel bar across the top of the tailgate that holds the back window in place. The Bestop does not make contact with any sheetmetal.

Ok, just installed mine, but the rear right side window and the rear window also on the right side are kind of wavy. The front window is tight as hell. Any tips?

Sure! Just can't find time now because of my newly born baby girl. But when I change all the color to black, I'll take pics and make a "how to" thread...
