Ive got a 2.5 toytec lift how high can i set my bilsteins without causing damage ?

 

Just set the 5100's at 2.5 and ditch the spacer. DO NOT USE BOTH!

 

Don't use the spacer lift with the 5100 (I'm guessing you have purchased), stacking lifts WILL cause damage.

 

Set at 0 for no damage. Use search, there's approx 10,944,843 threads on bilsteins.

 

You're far less likely to cause damage setting the Bilsteins at 2.5 vs. using a 2.5" top plate spacer.

 

will it be a smoother ride then the top plate spacer ? and will i lose any height ?

 

The OP said nothing about top plate spacer. Since he said 2.5" lift I assumed he meant he had 5100s.

 

You purchased adjustable shocks, use them for a lift. Top plate spacers have a range of potential issues. It will ride stiffer because you're preloading your coils but the 5100's will do alright to dampen the ride. You will not lose any height.

He said he has 5100's and a 2.5" lift from Toytec. To me, that means he has a 2.5" top plate spacer

 

yea i have a toytec 2.5 imch lift aal in the rear and the spacer up front i have not installed the bilsteins yet.

so i SHOULD remove the spacer and set the bilsteins to 2.5 ?

 

I would use the Bilsteins set at 2.5 rather than the spacers and this is why...

If you have a TRD Off Road, preloading the coils to 2.5" would make them very stiff as they are a progressive coil. The TRD Sport and SR5 use linear coils and they will still be stiff, but not as bad. Best case, you sould get replacement coils to lift 2.5", 5100's at 2.5 would be my next choice and the spacer would be my last choice.
