Spidertrax seized on

im trying to take my spidertrax off my truck but they are seized onto the hub. any ideas to get them off? i tried to hammer a flat head screwdriver between the hub and the spacer, but that started to damage the spacer. any ideas?

 

Penetrating oil/grease. I am an electrician and the best stuff for situations like that is some stuff called "knocker loose" no pun intended. Orange can, I can only find it at electric supply companies and it's $12 a can but I always keep one handy. Start with WD40 I suppose and go from there.

 

slowly lower the truck/spacer onto a block of wood until it pops off. Not the safest way, but what I have done to get seized crap off in a pinch.

 

thats an idea. only pinch im in is the truck is getting traded in on friday and homertaco wants the spacers so im trying to get them off so he can get em. well see how it goes. if its going to end up damaging the spacers and or truck its not worth it because he wont want damaged product nor would i want to sell damaged goods. either way, ill see if i can give this a shot and see how it goes. thanks

take the nuts off that hold the spacer and put the wheel back on. next get the jack that came with your truck. for the rear wheels you put the bottom of the jack against the bolts of the u-bolts and extend the jack to push against the rim at the bottom. for the front you'll need a piece of 2x4 or 4x4 to extend the jack to reach the front diff.

this is how I got my wheels off last time, anti-seize on them now so hopefully they come off easy next time

If you bolt the wheel back onto the spacer that should give you enough leverage to pull it off. No?? Or if you don't care too much about the truck you could smack it straight on really hard with like a 4lb hammer.

 

take wheel off, take lug nuts that hold the spacers on the hub, re-install tires on the spacers, kick the tire from the back side.
