toughest car/truck you ever drove

The toughest truck i ever drove was my dads 87 b2200. My brothers and i would abuse the shit out of that truck. I remember us taking it over a couple 4-5 ft ramps and would still make it home. My brother even broke the keys in the ignition and all you need was something flat that will fit in the igniting to start it. One time my brother backed the boat down the boat ramp and we had to back the truck all the way to where the water as a half way over the front tires cause the water was to low and it got in and out just fine. Funny thing is my dad sold the truck to one of my moms friends husband and there still driving the truck lol. I just laugh everytime i see that truck cause it just keeps going.

2005 Toyota Tacoma

 

85 volvo 240....hand me down from my old boss. when i finally gave it up it had 456.000 plus miles on it and still running good. i got when it was around 387.000 miles on the ticker. it was ugly as fuck, beat up and rusty looking on the outside and even uglier on the inside. it was the first car i had and one of the most memorable

i had one as a work truck but, as soon asthe company started not paying me my overtime and my boss was having a melt down on my crew i began taking it out on the truck lol.

i used to slam it in park while doing 30 mph! it would grind and click it's way to a stop i used to go to construction jobs and jump shit with it lol when i mean i literally beat the fuck out of it that is not an exaggeration. i used to let lol i would tell the kids living next door to throw shit at it they spray painted it horrible shit lol it still brings a smile to my face. i wish i had a picture of that piece of shit but, i don't.

it was the most unprofessional looking truck associated with that turd of a company and when they finally had to come pick it up at my house as a final fuck you the day before me and my boy's had a spontaneous off road rally race in reverse lol. i literally could not break it.

if the truck broke i could take paid days off so believe me when i say short of lighting it on fire i tried

i was doing the slamming it into park while going 40mph for a couple months lol.

i would pull up to construction sites and all the guy's would crack up because you would hear the truck from a couple miles away peeling out and shit then only to have me skid to a stop by doing the parking while still moving mod it was epic.

 

2002 GMC Sonoma. I drove that thing like I stole it every day I owned it and still got a great trade in out of it. Never wrecked it other than hitting 2 deer but I sure as hell should have one too many times.

 

This... I don't think anything comes close to the 22re.

what went to hell and never returned was my 90 volvo 960 turbo.. this thing went everywhere... dunes, mud, speed bumps, lawns.. everything!!!! we even drove it on what we call "green belts" in my neighbor hood. oh ya, i also though i was a tokyo drifter and everyday after football practices id lay a HUGE drift in the parking lot at the school... then came the day i went a little to wide into the school parking lot... ended up going up the curb, through a "no parking" pole and then some bushes... that was the end of her. had about 198k on it and have another 198k to go.. OH let me add... i had that bitch turned down right after the CAT

1998 Ford Ranger.

It was a company truck that I put 30K on in one year. It had 160K on it when I got it, 190K when I passed it on.

The company I worked for liked to send me out on 3 hours a day unscheduled, mandatory overtime. They also had me on commission and sometimes I didn't get paid for that overtime. (illegal)

The seats in the truck were wore out so my back hurt driving it. The syncros in the transmission were worn so that you had to shift like a grandma or it would grind. It also had a problem that made it idle at 1500 RPM and set a check engine light. I reported that the check engine light was on, the boss asked if I had looked under the hood and "checked that the engine was still there"

I taught myself how to drive without using the clutch on that truck Lots of back roads, sand, mud, etc. Learned how to drift like a rally car racer. Bottomed that thing out crossing dry creek beds, warped the brake rotors trying to make time on the twisty roads so I could get home 20mins earlier. Took my frustrations out on it with my fists. There were dents in the cab roof from the inside out from me punching the headliner. Broke a leaf spring from these antics with a fully loaded bed. Tried to back out a sloped, curvy driveway with it and got the clutch so hot the truck would not move. Let it cool down and did a 15 point turnabout at the bottom of the driveway and went up forward. Never did need a clutch job that I know of.

I quit driving that thing more than six years ago, had a couple other trucks at that company before I quit. I was at a BBQ last weekend and saw the guy who currently drives it. It's well over 250K now. He says he does not look anymore because he's afraid it's going to fall apart with him in it. He's hit two deer with it since he's had it.

What's the difference between a 4WD and a company truck?

Yes this is true! I have a 93 pick-up my Dad bought new, he is the cheapest man in the world and barely did any maintenance at all, its was my daily driver for the last 2 yrs and it still runs great and gets 30mpg to and from work or 7k feet to 4k and back up the mtn. I have people trying to buy it all the time, I tell them hell no, this truck will out live most of us! So far with 205k miles on it, all he has done are shocks, spark plugs once, 3 sets of tires and a muffler! I think his cheap ass is still on the same set of brake pads!
