I've always got my BOB, but aside from that I carry these items in the rear passenger storage compartments:
    - two different types of crowbars
    - Kabar
    - Multi tool
    - Fire starting kit
    - general small tools
    - Rope
    - jumper cables
Probably going to add a few more things over time.
I think a card with info like blood type etc, would be good to have on hand also. I don't remember my bloodtype so I gotta check with the dr.

If I had a camper shell I would make some sort of drawer system.
build it to where it sits flush and level between your wheel wells. 2 large drawers for tools and gear. have the top of the drawers have a hinge with a second piece of plywood so that you could unfold it and it then turns into a sleeping platform. leaving the underneath for storage.

It looks cool in my head, I dont know how well I translated it into words... haha
everything at work is blocked but here is an idea

Those are awesome ideas. Gives me some ideas.
Maybe a hybrid version storage towards next to the cab and some
hangers with space towards the tail gate to Haul. And make it like a
    Easy quick release?

yea thats what I was thinking. have that stuff only up towards the cab where a tool box would be at normaly. then just have a few extra sheets of plywood on top of that unit that can unfold and cover the rest of the bed for a sleeping platform

Lots of D.I.Y. types here so maybe take some time and paruse the following link to get your creativity flowing. If you want to be able to jettison the works so you can haul stuff set them up with turnbuckles into the corner bed bolts to help hold them in place and that you can simply loosen and remove when needed.

Heaps of storage ideas to look at.

Got the custom rain fly for the Flippac in the mail today, just waiting for the call from Martyn to arrange a quick drive to Arizona to get the Flippac itself.

I used to carry a ton of crap in the tool box for any ocassion. I found that everyone else always needed something and I could never sit down with my beer for more than 2 minutes, so now I downsized my items and can actually enjoy my entire beer!
