LSD on a TRD Off Road??

    FlowMaster 40 duals out the back, T-Rex grill, Color matched TRD Nerf bars, Icon coilovers set at 2'', 2.75" OME Dakars spring packs, OME Nitro-Charger extended rear shocks, Carrier bearing drop kit, Wheeler's Extended break Lines, Total Chaos UCAs, Mojave Teflons and 31 1/2" Toyo Open Country A/Ts, Pioneer single din unit, Yakima roof rack, Malone roof basket with X2 KC 130w long range Slimmlights mounted to it, Garmin 255w nav, Fire bottle mod, Air Force standard First Aid kit mod, Hidden Muchette mod (don't ask), and 1 huge OCD about my truck.
    So I took an 09 DC TRD off Road for a test drive this weekend. Im having some issues with the power train on my 06 sport and wanted to feel what a stock truck felt like. Anyways, it was a TRD Off Road package right, but it only had a LSD? I thought the E-locker came standard on the off road? I thought thats what seperated a 4x4 sport and an 4x4 Off Road. The sales guy had no idea what I was talking about. What the hell?

    1. Find a new dealer.
    2. Did it have the TRD Offroad sticker on the sides of the truck and the switch for the locker?

    Don't take the word of salespeople. Check it out for yourself.

    Yes, it had the TRD Off Road sticker on the side. And I read on the window sticker, the one with the price and all the options that it had a LSD. Could have just been a typo I guess. Since I don't have a locker on my 06 sport I didn't know whare to look for the button. I saw the 2H-4H-4L rotory switch to the right of the steering wheel, but that was it. Oh well, I can't afford to upgrade anyways, And the shifting of the 09's auto tranny was smooth as butter, unlike my 06. Have an appointment on saterday at a diffrent dealer to look at my prob.

    oil change...
    when i bought my truck it had the TRD offroad sticker on it. after being on this site i came to find out that the dealer just slapped that sticker on there themselves and mine was actually a base model pre runner........:mad:

    Borla Catback Exhaust, Snorkel, 33s on either 16's or 18's, ARB Bumper, All Pro LT w/Walker Evan Shocks front and back, All Pro expedition leaf pack, 10,000lb Superwinch, Intake Manifold Spacer, Bed Rack with ARB RTT, Rotopack and Hi Lift mounted, Husky Liner mats and an air freshener from 1995.
    You can get the OR package in a prerunner. It doesn't have to have 4x4 from what I gather. (Although why you wouldn't is beyond me)

    Most desert runners are 2wd. Lighter and possible to get LOTS more wheel travel and ground clearance without worrying about the CV joint angles.

    With the locker a 2wd is a damn capable machine. :)

    oil change...
    I dont think I got charged the OR package price, I bought it used with 7k miles on it. i was pissed about it at first but in over it now....but it would be nice to have the locker.....


    mine is only 2wd with the LSD and I have done some pretty intense offroading, I just make sure i have plenty of momentum!!!

    and all 09's have the auto lsd, regarless of package. the OR's still have the e-locker as well.
