Are there any companies that make high quality short rubber coated or fiberglass radio antennae for the Tacoma?

Walmart sells a universal fit shorty antenna for about $8. I'm not sure of the quality of it though.

Lol, I can't tell if you are telling me to leave or telling the other guy to google everything. Either way, about 99% of the questions new people ask can be solved by searching or through google. The majority of them have been asked several times with a bunch of answers.

LOL. I was telling you that online forums are probably a waste of time for you, but I'll check Google...

It's a Scosche RMA900. I have it. Works great. It comes with four different adapters, one of which fits our truck. You can see a couple pictures of it (nothing close up) in my gallery.

This thread was helpful. I hated my oem antenna sounding like beating a metal trash can lid every time i opened/closed/entered my garage. The 8.97 scosche wally world one works fine. I googled the model number and found this thread to see if one of the included adapters would fit the taco. Thanks OP for posting.

What's the ball intended to do?

Fyi, i tried to get the ball off mine, thought maybe it was just a tack weld or threaded.. It didnt come off so i gave up. I had cut the top 8" or so off and the radio sounded perfect though. I though about getting a wire splice or something else to cap it and keep the wire at the top of the mast.

It holds this wire at the top. netegyjy_715cc45d4dcf53ad81f3ef71081bcbe3e5d661eb.jpg

    Some stuff...
I had bad luck with the shorty antennas - reception wasn't as good as stock, so I went back to the flag-pole.

Lol.. I don't have that option since I clearly didn't have the trick for shortening it. I usually listen to sat radio/mp3's but i drove around and the shorty was working ok. Maybe not if i took a road trip out of town. Mine sounds the same as before.. Sounds kinda tinny when you first turn it on for a few seconds then flips to hdradio and sounds good. Both were same as before it seemed.

Whats left of the end of oem:

I had the Wally World floppy, a chopped stocker and a modified CB antenna. Then I just gave up altogether, I don't listen to radio anyway.

Seems some/many here are long-time experienced Taco owners, who have covered these topics long-ago and often; I always use both google and here, but here is better even if the questions are 'old'.
