Bolt on Slider thoughts, CBI, All-Pro, others?

CBI, will cost around $560 with Kick-out, and the current sale. .125 HREW

All-Pro will cost around $570 Kick-out is standard, (honestly the Kick transission is a bit smoother on these.) .135 HREW

I want bolt-on, and want to do it myself. Tires will not be greater than 33.

Any thoughts, suggestions, experiences, or reccomendations?

Of those two I would go with CBI, because they will actually stand up to stuff.

Any reason you're not looking at Hybrid DOM stuff from Relentless or BAMF? Or having CBI pump some out for you?

 

Funny, that's one (All Pro) I don't like.

I'm shopping these too and am considering DWreck (no drill and Hi-Lift rated) and 4x Innovations
Most of the bolt-ons require some drilling.

Why ?

 

Nobody has mentioned demello yet. They have bolt-ons that do not require drilling. If you want to use a high lift with them, then I think they recommend drilling additional holes. They come with all grade 8 hardware too. I think they are good looking.

Because I will tell my truck where to go, and when I'm on a tight line where inches matter, I don't want the fucking slider throwing me off because it thought I would rather be a few more inches to whatever side.

On tight trails kickouts cause more difficulty/complication/problems/tribulations/annoyance/undesirable effects, but not damage, than they save.

See the tree on the passenger side of the truck? See the rock the driver tire is on? Well, this line is incredibly tight, and the slider grinds along the tree as you pass. There's about 1 inch of clearance. If my slider had had a kickout, it would've thrown me to driver, which would've knocked me off the rock and high centered me on it on the front skid. (I know this because it happened on the three attempts before this picture was taken) The ridge you have to ride next to the tree is about half the width of a 285 tire, which is why the passenger tire appears to be hanging in space.

This is not the only line I've been on that requires this level of precision. Once again, I want to drive, not the sliders.

ATO hybrid...not really available anymore, although he does sell 4xInnovations setups.

Hybrid style is significantly stronger and flexes much less because square tube is a lot more rigid than round tube. DOM is stronger than HREW. No kickouts keep you on your line. Weld-on sliders thicken your frame while bolt-ons require drilling holes which create weak spots that get stressed when the slider takes a hit.

Hence I recommend:

Weld-on Hybrid sliders, DOM, no kickout, from a quality manufacturer

I like CBI's bolt-ons (if you must...) because they have the most complete bracket out there in their u-shape setup which goes all the way around the frame:

 

4x innovations FTMFW. Have them on my rig. You can specify kick out or non kick out.

Don't forget Slee Offroad's sliders...Christo knows what he is doing. They are expensive but...they're works of art and everything Christo builds is made to work.

 

How do kick-outs cause more damage then they save? I have yet to see this come into play

 

I have a set of CBI bolt-ons and they are in my opinion, after a lot of research the best bolt-on option, the u-bracket construction is incredible strong and is a completely drill-less option. Easy to install and strong as hell. I went with the standard one without the kick-out just liked the slim line look better. They line up great and look great with my Bushwacker cut-a-way flares. Expensive but very worth it since I wanted to have a strong bolt on. Just my .02 cents. Good luck with what ever you choose.

No, actually, it's not. Damage is a physical change to the vehicle. Harm can be anything from damage, to throwing you off your line and getting you stuck, to making you too wide to fit between two trees.

Would the word "problems" have made the concept easier for you to understand?
