    Howdy all, been lurking for about a month now. It seems like every google search for some sort of question on the Tacoma leads here.

    About me
    I am 24, live in the paradise *cough*hack* that is southern California. I fix computers for a living, not cars. I am a bit mechanically inclined, but I am used to working on my '87 244 Volvo. The latest batch of wiring problems proved it's time for a new ride. For the last year I have been researching trucks that would fit my need. I am a bit tired of leaving my clunker at home when I want to head out to the desert or mountains.

    I will be buying a used 2nd Gen Tacoma double cab, preferably 4x4, sometime in early 2012. I have to admit to being a bit obsessed with the planned purchase. I have a list of things to make the truck my own over the first couple years.

    Always smart to find out ahead of time what you're getting into. Before I bought my used 07, I saw that the compass/temp was not working and I had already read here about the common issue and how to fix it. I got to argue that it was broken for a few bucks discount which I then just fixed w/a soldering iron in 30 minutes! :D
