After a never ending nighmare trying to get my 09 tacoma rear leaf springs replaced, they finally had a toyota "inspector" give mine the go-ahead for replacement, under the platinum extended warranty(59600mi). BUT, they say the leaf springs are on national backorder, due to a tacoma frame replacement tsb?

Anyone recently had the rear leaf tsb done? Curious how long I'll have to wait for the springs to show up....

I had mine done about 6K ago.
It was a next day thing.

I'm near a port of entry though, don't know if stock is better here or not ?

Wazzup with the frame recall ?

I had the TSB done, but they didn't use the TSB springs, so I guess I can't really tell you anything.

i was just at the dealer today for the tsb on my '11. they didn't give me a hassle about it at all, by the way. asked me if i was bottoming out with a load, i said "yes," and after a 20 minute wait, they told me they should have the new springs in on monday.

so based upon this and the others comments above, i'm calling bs on the "national backorder."

No, they changed the leafs to another regular 3 leaf pack, not the TSB pack.

That's no good. I haven't heard back from my dealer yet. Maybe I will call today.

I'm about to say screw it, and buy the toytec AAL.

They ordered mine when I went in for my 5k service exactly 2 weeks ago, didn't give me any hassle at all, parts got in after about a week, and I am getting the work done today.

Make sure you check and see that you got the 4 leaf pack before you leave.

    Will do, thanks!

I will also bring up the squeaky blower motor to them and see if they have the new model in stock.

I just got the TSB done on mine yesterday after waiting over a month because of the "back order" .... If I had it to do over I would have just gone for an after market leaf pack! It did not give me the height I wanted anyway and I will now have to AAL sooooo... =big waste of time!

I recently tried aal's, partly due to weak leafs , both toytecs and wheelers, both were to high with the 5100's @ .85" & 1.5". My truck is a chronic cv clamp slinger, at 1.5" in front it makes the issue twice as bad. Pm me for a great deal, if interested in the aal's.

Well, what do you know, they just put another 3-leaf pack on the truck...

The TSB I found on TW (dated Dec 21, 2010) lists parts 48210-04570 and 48220-04210 for the new leaf packs, while the invoice from the Service Dept. lists 48210-04551 and 48220-04191. When I pointed it out to the service rep, he said to see how it goes and let them know if this doesn't fix the problem. To his defense, he was a different rep from the one that handled the part order two weeks ago (he was out this week), and so he just oversaw the installation. Will probably just wait for after the holidays and call them back.
