That actually doesn't sound bad at all with just the straight pipe. Does the 3" cause lack of backpressure at all? I have heard that "too big" will cause you to actually lose power.

When i took my muffler off i noticed a minor power drop just when towing my boat. no mpg change. then i added the 3" pipe from the cab back and have noticed no diff. no problems with it shutting off or acting wierd and my boat still feels the same behind me. i will post a cab and flyby vid tm so you get the full spectrum. it is an unusual set up but i did it my self and am happy with it.

the 3" did give it a nice low idle and cruise sound. if you keep you acceleration right at 2000rpm it sounds bad ass imo

and what i dont get is how do you not lose power with a magnaflow which is a straight through design? either way it makes no diff. to me it isnt like you lose 15 hp so to hell with it all haha....magnaflow does sound good though!!

OK SO HERE IT IS. IF YOUR PUTTING IT ON YOURSELF BE READY TO HAVE A HARD TIME PASSING DEQ. ITS A PAIN YOU WILL MAKE MISTAKES. MY FLOWMASTER HAS 1 IN 1 OUT WITH DOWN PIPES. I LOVE IT BUT NEED TO TAKE THE CAT OFF. ITS NOT REALLY LOUD.

IF I WHERE TO DO ANOTHER I WOULD GLASS PACK IT BUT TO ME!... ITS KINDA RICER BUT THATS ME

The exhaust gases must travel through he perforated core, and into the packing in the muffler body, creating backpressure.

Ya, really not a fan of the stock exhaust. Doesn't have a nice "tone" and im sure the factory system restricts airflow and steals HP from the true potential.

absolutely it does, like I said earlier the stock 1st gen. exhaust is as big (if not bigger)as the stock muffler on my full size Dodge truck, prolly waaaaay too much back pressure

I think im going to stick with the factory piping, but just cut and weld in the magnaflow. It seems to be the crowd favorite and I like the sound for sure!

thats your best option really, unless your stock pipe is rusty and needs replaced. Any bigger size piping and you will lose power.

Im running the 14'' magnaflow. 2.5'' IN/OUT that is center in, offset out. Sounds BAD ASS. I have the stock 2.25'' pipe running to it, then 2.5'' all the way out to a 3'' tip. LOVE IT
