How do you load your sport bike into your Truck bed?

I ride CBR stunt bike right up my ramp into the bed all the time. Easy as hell, done it alot and have not messed up yet, cant account for others though.

 

Stunt bikes are typically geared lower and fully caged. Plus stunt riders tend to have a bit more clutch and brake control than most people. If you can do it, great but for most people riding the bike up a single ramp is not a good idea.

 

ha i do it alone every time as do all my friends.... it goes up there with no problems lol

thanx man that was this summer. its actually an f4... same bike, same motor, except caburated... but its a fun bike, i still ride the streets all the time, so the lot is a hobby not a dedication like all my friends bikes... u ride a cbr too?

 

Ride?? no... I wreck an 02 F4i alot though! Lol, havnt ridden it since I busted my radiator and clipon. Ill get back on practising this spring after Im over this Tacoma thing. Have a Thrust 54 or 58 tooth sprocket, Atown cage and subcage, I cant even remember what brand clipons, its been soo long since I have taken a break from the stunt thing.

 

yeah man, im only -1/+2... but i have tygersharg cage, riteuous shorty clutch, Brembo handbrake, 12 bar and a few other goodies. its a fun and challenging as hell hobby. it just expensive when ur breaking shit. did a show this summer with some friends, im not very good but my friends kill it... had fun, but yeah same boat, my taco is so much fun to run over stuff in

 

Im not even close to the level your at yet man, I would have been had it not been for this damn Taco!!!. I still got to get to BP. It is still a much cheaper hobby than off roading I think. Never would I have spent the 10 grand on my bike that I plan and hopefully can on my truck. Cant wait to get a HB and a Riteuous too.

 

yeah... ive been at the lot tho for like 3 years... i kind of hit a wall tho, i can circle and ralph louis and u know basically circle and move my legs around but i cant seem to nail any harder tricks... its really frustrating when u hit a wall like that. i gave up and focused on the truck, ill eventually go back to the bike cuz the rush and feeling of spiining around on one wheel is so cool but.... i want to regear lower too, but then my "streetability of the bike will lower.... i need more $ so i can buy a pretty bike for the streets!!!!!!

 

Yeah I bet that can be super frustrating, Ill have to see if I ever get there. I sold my R6v, miss my pretty street bike. I think mine is plus 8 or 9 and it isnt too annoying on the street. I cant remember but I think a lot of the guys from StuntRide said that you should be fine if you stick to between +5-9. I dunno though.

 

yeah im on stuntride alot too.... and i think it really depends on the bike. but im talking like highway. at 70 im spinning the thing like 7000rpm.... i just cant imagine any more....

The cost was $449, and I got I think 10% off for military so that basically covered shipping.

I love it, it is so easy to load up, I just pull up to my driveway, connect the ramp that you can see next to the bike in the pics and push my motorcycle up on it, then strap it down with tie down ratchets.

The only downside to this, is that I have found out that you either need to take off your plate from your truck or get an addition plate for it so that it can be visible. It totally blocks your license plate and a local cop buddy of mine in Georgia said that the plate needs to be visible. I have gone on 4-5 trips from Middle Georgia down to Central Florida and back, without being stopped. I even had a Florida Highway Patrolman talk to me about it at a gas station when he was parked behind me getting gas. He thought it was "bad ass", and didn't even mention anything about the plate. I talked with another FHP officer and he told me that if I stay under the speed limit and not doing anything stupid that more than likely nothing will happen.

Thanks man for all the info Quadsix. One last question, how do you get it tied down with out it falling over on the truck/ground?

 

Just look at the photos of it tied down on my truck. Once you push it up onto the ramp, the front wheel goes in the front chock. It sways a little bit, but nothing to worry about.

I use a Ready Ramp that I've had for many many years, works great.
I easily put 2 bikes in mine for going to the track. I just put them up against the front of the bed use the soft tie type straps to the lower tripple. One strap on each to the sides of the bed and the others go to a little bracket I have bolted in the middle. For the back I just strap the rear tires together and to each side of the bed too keep them from moving around.
For the new truck, I'm going to be getting the pitbull trailer restraints so I won't have any have pressure on the forks. Blowing seals because of tightening too much sucks! Plus it'll make securing them so much easier
