    You can get moonshine whiskey up to 200 proof legally. What make is illegal is when people don't want to pay federal distillation taxes to distill their whiskey.
    Edit: I'm not sure about your state but here is SC we have Bacardi 151 which is 151 proof rum and Everclear which is 190 proof grain alcohol.
