    Items needed:
    Metal coat hanger
Tool to cut metal coat hanger
    Phillips head screwdriver

Cut this part of the hanger off:

Make a "hanger" for your gas cap, tinker with it for a minute or so, and take the screw off for the clip that holds the gas door closed (mine was on there pretty good), you'll get something like this:

You'll notice when the door is closing/closed the hanger goes under the cap and the plastic leash fits right under it snugly. You may need to bend it a little.

I didn't like my cap rubbing against the truck when I was filling up and it was windy, and I was bored. This literally took me less than 10 min taking pics incl.
    Enjoy. Feedback appreciated.

Outside the box but, I just hang mine from the catch with the gas strap. Metal hanger will rust at some point.

Hey! TW is where people come to show off the work ideas they have and the work they've done on their trucks.

If it's not your style, fine. Let it go. There are certainly some mods that I have to bite my tongue on.

But this isn't the place for talkin' smack to each other.

    On a side note:
Here in Cali, gas stations are "supposed" to remove the hold-open latch on the gas pump lever for safety reasons.....

When lazy, just stick the gas cap in there to keep the lever open and pumping ;) Is it safe? probably not, but c'mon!

I do think about put a earth magnetic on the cap, so it will stay on the metal cover.
