I just got this 2004 Double Cab and I want to remove the bedliner to clean out underneath. It says "Classic Liner" on the front by the cab. It goes over the rails and over the front top of the bed.

There's 4 screws that have loose triangle shaped wedges that clamp under the bed rails. I can get at the rear 2 because of the holes in the loner for the cargo hooks, but the front ones are blind. For the front should I just remove the wedges and let them fall behind then flex the liner out? If so, how do I reinstall the front wedges without scratching things up?

    Thanks,
    Mike

not quite sure about yours, but my old bed liner has rectangular peices that looked like they were part of the liner, but in fact popped up. I just needed to pry the bottom out a bit with a regular screw driver.

    Maybe some pictures would help.

There are screws that you can see, loosen those screws, and that will twist those triangle pieces out of the way of the lip of the bed rails. THen just jiggle is a bit to lossen it up and pull that crap out.

Better yet, just unscrew those 4 bolts all the way out. The triangle pieces will fall into the bed, but it'll free everything up. Then just pull that piece of crap out, clean the bed, and get a spray-in or DIY bed liner. I just did a Hurculiner last weekend...

    Thanks all.
So let's say I get it out, clean up, and maybe coat the bed. If I want to reinstall it, how does it go back in with those triangles installed up front? Is it just a bend and force kind of thing? Or, is there a more elegant way to get it installed?

    Thanks again,
    Mike

I just pulled out my Toyota liner from my dcsb, and I'm convinced this piece of shit does more damage to the bed than it stops. Many spots worn down to bare metal. I hit it with some primer on the bare spots, I think I'm going to try to spray some type of liner in myself.

    Yep.

IIRC, you loosely "pre-install" the triangles, then put the liner back in-place, after which you simply tighten the screws. As they tighten, the triangles rotate into place and secure the liner.
