best option for rear lift 01 taco

    so i got the OME 881's and bilstein 5100's up front set at lowest setting and got right at 3 inches of lift out of it, i didnt do the rear when i did the front cause i didnt know what i wanted and ran out of money....so now its time to do it and i have no idea what way to go, my local 4x4 shop that i wont ever go to again said 300 for pro comp single aal and they wouldnt sell it to me without installling it for another 200 (seriously)..im thinking the progressive aal from either wheelers or icon, is there any major difference? and ill get the 5100s for the back as well and are there different ones for different amounts of lift?!? ive seen 5100s that say 0-1" and 0-3" but are the same part numbers

    is there any major differences between the wheelers and icon 3 leaf aal or is it just price? and are they difficult to install?

    Light bar and bumper guard, 3/16 steel skid plates for engine, tranny and transfer box, OME 881 springs with 5100 shocks at mid clip. AAL in rear. Positraction rear diff.
    If you add 3 inches of lift in the rear I would suggest you go with a Bilstein 5125 shock. They come in various lengths. I used a BE5-A463-H6 on my 04 Tacoma. It is 15.11 inches to 24.35 inches.

    I have the wheelers progressive aal...stiff as hell, with flat stock leafs lol. My ass end bounces around a lot. Save for a real leaf pack! Wish I would have.

    my stock leafs are flat yet but they arent in the greatest shape ever thats why i was thinking the progressive aal's would be my best bet without replacing them all together

    I just have a 2" toytec single AAL. Cheap as shit, and feels great. A little stiff when the bed is empty, but no complaints here.

    ive looked for junkyard leafs haha no luck....do they look that flat or can i save em with progressive aal and have it last awhile

    They look pretty flat, I'd keep trying the junkyard. You'd be surprised with what people do, I've seen plenty of trucks jacked up with 2x4, or 4x4 wood blocks, setting on 35's haha, looks like crap. But works for them I guess

    haha funny you mention that, there is a guy around here with a late 90s f150 on 42's and its all from a "custom" pressure treated 4x4 wood body lift

    do you have to do anything special to the leaf springs to install the progressive aal (like remove the stock spring clips) or is it just bolt on pretty much.......my lack of a grinder would like to know

    which ever way you go OP you need extended shocks first

    are getting the 5100s for the rear going to be enough? its not alot of lift im just trying to get it levelish since its sitting like 2" high in the front right now

    I've got 3" of lift from my springs with Bilstein 5125's ,

    You'll want to get an extended brakeline also..

    You'll get your leveling from additional springs & the extended shocks to accomodate the lift for travel

    I'd probably go with the 2" AAL if I had to choose between the 2 I know the 1.5" is going to go flat on you , how fast depends on the type of offroading you do (if any) & what kind of weight you load & carry, but it will fail sooner or later...

    will i need to extend the brake lines with only 1.5 to 2" of lift or will mine be alright? or is this one of those every yota is different kinda things?>>>>>>>>>>>>no real weight in the rear end and yeah it goes offroad atleast once a week
