Yup! Just had to order my 4th delivery of oil. Granted, the 2 I paid for were not full tanks, but still. That was $366 I could've spent on other things. I swear I want to get one of those outdoor wood furnaces this summer! Damn oil prices are killing me. Not to mention the fact I have to wait for someone else to bring fuel instead of just being about to go out and get some myself to restock our supply when we start getting low, or I have time.

I have a pellet stove that does a decent job of holding 65-70 across our first floor, but pellets went up $2/bag this year! That means $90 for ~15 days of fuel. Or $100 more than last year for a pallet. Needless to say I haven't been using it much this winter. Thought about doing more with pellets, but this winter I realized a drop in the housing, furniture, or logging industries leads to increased price in pellets. Same thing from an increase in oil prices between cost of making them, and freight. So with so many things that can drive up the cost I think I'll switch to wood. I have land we can get it from, and if the housing or furniture markets slump I might be able to buy a load of logs cheaper. :D

But yeah, I know I need something to reduce oil dependence. Would love to look into solar, wind, geothermal, etc, but I don't have the $$$$ to invest right now.

My bro-in-law has one. They are nice. We just hooked it up to the barn for poker nights.

Same here, minus the electric heat.

Yeah, I'd love to do a secondary heat loop to my barn for radiant floor heat after pouring a concrete floor! :D Don't see it happening soon though.

I will be stationed up there, and in April, I'll be making the trip cross country in my Taco, so I was thinking of taking some sort of photo tour of the Continent lol. I should have some pretty sweet pics of my truck along the ALCAN, the Canadian Rockies, and other cool places
