Does anyone know how to make the song title / artist scroll on the display? There is so much more info to display but I'm capped at just so many static characters.

I don't know if it is same as my '08 or not. On mine you press the "text" button on the radio for the first line of text. then press and hold the "text" button again for two or three seconds, it beeps and then displays the second line of text. This is for the RDS on some local stations for the band and album info.

The CD has to have the data on it and if you burn from Itunes make sure that you check the box for that....otherwise it just says no data.

Also for radio stations they have to broadcast in RDS if you are looking for that.

Here only two of the stations I have programmed broadcast that way.

coudnl't tell you I don't have a chevy. But if it can display the info then more than likely the radio had the RDS function.

Just treid on my 09 (without the JBL). RDS does not seem to work. I know the stations I listen to use RDS and cant get it to work. RDS is not mentioned at all in the manual.

However, CD song names do show up when playing a CD.

I assume the 09's are not RDS capable.?

Just checked, mine does NOT have the RDS symbol and after doing some searching (google RDS tacoma) it seems the RDS feature is for the more expensive JBL option.

Now we know. THANKS for posting the pic!!

I have the JBL system in my 09 and it does not have RDS. I was pretty disappointed to find out that this fairly old technology didn't come with a high dollar upgraded system.

I agree. Heated mirrors would be nice. I'm OK without the RDS as no cars I have ever owned had this.

High definition digital radios would have been cool too!

Not to be rude but you are sure you have the JBL and not just the 6 disk changer? Others have been unsure in the past
