ultimately, yes, ..because the public elects the legislators, who appoint the policymakers, ..etc.. those are the folks, some of certain ideologies and nefarious intent, ...are trying to foist this whole thing on us all..

 

Wait , so I'm kinda lost

You said that we , the public , are being misled about the science ( or lack thereof ) about climate change , and that we are being led to believe , by " alarmists " that it is worse than it really is , and yet at the same time you think that this same group of easily misled people to be the judge of the same science , only this time come to an opposite conclusion ?

That sounds more like whoever has the best lobbyists wins rather than anything to do with proving or disproving the problem .

what i'm trying to say, ..in a round-about way, ... is that we ultimately shape what happens in terms of policy, ..we elect the people who are in the positions to make regulations based on this stuff, ... either we elect people who resist the fraud, or we elect people who perpetuate it and curry favor to the fraudsters at the top..

i guess you could think of the global warming/cooling/climatechange folks as a big lobby, ..yes that's pretty much it - they want gov'ts around the developed world to exact economy-crushing regulations/laws that restrict individuals and consumer choice, and abridge national sovereignty, ..so that the fraudsters at the top of the pyramid can "trade" the air w/ exhale - ...thus we are slaves, and they make money... there is nothing more absurd than concocting a scheme to make money off of the "air" around us, ..but it's what these folks are all about..

 

Big lobby applies to the oil industry as well.

 

you guys wanna give a chance to your country and give the world a favor...vote for Ron Paul...don't do like in 2008 when nobody asked themself why on one side the was obama and clinton and on the republican side the was only Mc Cain???yep Ron Paul was there too, but he is a "problem" for these guys....

is there an oil/petroleum lobby?... sure... if you think about it, there is a "lobby" for damn near everthing.... it's a double edged sword, ..lobbies can be helpful because they are subject matter experts, wheras legislators cannot be on every industry/issue.. but, they there is also a widespread perception that lobbies are embroiled in corruption - i.e. manipulating legislators in a way that gives them a market advantage...

..i think both sides of the sword are probably true...

i see your point!! but civil political opinion and comments aren't bad in any way....as long as it stays CIVIL, if someone starts being rude and offensive then i'm all for locking threads.....but let's be realistic, if people want to change things in this world, CIVIL discussions have to be made to create awareness and solutions...it's the base of everything.
