So auburn's DC takes the DC job at Central Florida (step down?). Their OC takes the HC job at Arkansas State for $500,000 less per year (step down?).

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but something seems less than 'lovely' on the plains these days.

I wouldn't be surprised if they were both told either take another job or stay and get fired. If I were Vandy I'd be happy that Gus didn't accept their offer last year. He hasn't proved to me that he is worth the 3 million they offered him. I've said it once and I'll say it again, anybody can look like an offensive genius with Newton at QB. In my opinion Gus is just your average OC. You know as well as I do that in college football, especially in the SEC, schools want quality wins and championships. Lack of results equals no job. I was not impressed at all with his play calling this year. With a so called offensive genius, Auburn would have had at least 1 more win this year and the four games that were blowouts would have been much closer in margin of defeat.

    See my above post.

Radio rumors are Dyer wants to transfer to Arky St., that way he won't loose a year. Recruiting is fucked.

Dyer would still have to sit a year. Arkansas State is a FBS school.

Give Malzahn a Heisman caliber player (Cam Newton, Darren McFadden) and he'll look like a genius. Anything less, he'll look mediocre.

Red Wolves huh, I'm mistaken all the way around. What Arky teams' mascot are the "Mule Riders". Whoever it is they play/played UNA in division 2 ball a few years back. I thought that was where Gus was going. Is there a Southern Arkansas?

Yes, Southern Arkansas University 'Muleriders' is located in Magnolia, AR, and they are a Division II, er, FCS school.
That's not where GM is going.

That's the one I was thinking about, that's why I thought he'd (Dyer) wouldn't have to sit out a year. I sit corrected...

Local sports radio today, (Chuck and Chernoff) were saying that Malzon (SP?) and Chizik were butting heads. Said that Chizick with the defense struggling needed the offense to slow down and make long drives and was trying to call the plays. And they felt that his thinking was he would be better in the long run by taking this step by proving himself there rather than looking bad by not control of his own offense and that he would have more success w/o Chizik interfering. I'm just still surprised he didn't go to a bigger school. I knew he would be offered a HC job somewhere, just thought if he took it, it would be with a bigger school.

First, I don't pretend to know, but I'd guess that's total bull. If it was true he would not stay and coach the bowl game, he would go now. The offense just sucked. I seen no signs of it being slowed down, other than not very many play makers, (now the Dyer stories are coming out) or bad coaching.

That is just what they said, they normally do have good inside info. :notsure: They did say the butting heads was just a short stint, I guess they were more speculating this rather than saying it was the case.

Yeah, I'm not arguing, and don't doubt for one minute it wasn't said, or even true. My point was only, if he wanted out so badly, I hardly think he'd hang around to coach the bowl game. I did just read, that he'll be on the sidelines for Arky St.s' bowl game also, in Mobile the 8th of Jan.

The blogger does make some great points. But, his style of offense is hard to run when you have no QB, no OL or no receivers, I would guess.

Watched Sam Houston State play in the Semifinals(FCS) and glad that a local team is succeeding. Pretty good game too. This may be old news to y'all (too lazy to go back and read old posts) but Dylan Favre is transferring from Miss. State to a community college. Would anyone know why he is going to a community college? He's got a damn good arm and can actually scramble when under pressure, why not go somewhere with a football program?

It has. I went to the Division II Championship Game today. It's just across the river (Tennessee) from me, and had free tix. Home of the UNA Lions, Terry Bowden coaches there now. They, (UNA) have won the NG a few times, but the game is played here every year, was covered by ESPN, good times...

I guess that makes sense. But I mean, it is the state of Mississippi, how hard is it to keep good grades? I promise I want to go to Mississippi State for forestry

Ha, didn't see your subliminal message at first. Forestry in not a bad field to get into.
