    ..yep, ..we must be indoctrinated properly :D

    here is what the alramists tell us:

    global warming = global cooling = climate change

    more hurricanes = climate change
    less hurricanes = climate change
    wetter summer = climate change
    drought = climate change
    snowy winter = climate change
    wet winter = climate change
    more tornadoes = climate change
    earthquake = climate change

    ... so, according to our "esteemed" institutions of "climate theory", ... every crisis is naturally attributed to global warming, er i mean climate change, therefore climate change is real :rolleyes:

    ...i'd gladly accept payment to do the latter... :D

    ... the onus of proving, w/out doubt, that "climate change" is man-made is on the alarmists... they want in my pocketbook, and to regulate consumer choice and liberty, ..so they'd damn well better prove beyond a shadow of a doubt we are in crisis... ... so far they've hit a few debilating roadblocks in making their case, such as climategate emails, and scientific reports that seem to contradict the armageddon they espouse..

    I assume you mean man made climate change , you've been spewing on for a couple pages about how the Earth's climate changes are a normal cycle .

    ..correct... my posititon is that the earth undergoes continual change, caused by phenomena that is much more impactful than us... so, i rebuke the alarmist claims of armageddon due to carbon emmissions, cow farts, ..etc..

    And my position would be that it is more likely a bit of both

    ... well, as a believer in newtonian physics, ... it's reasonable to believe that man-made emissions have some effect on things,.. ... but i think it's neglibible compared to everything else..

    who is trying to indoctrinate you? i also think that there is a little more to it than that. i also have never heard that a wetter this equals that theory.

    there is a give and take with everything i have ever seen in my 33 years on this planet our resources and way of life are no different. we take from the planet and give back in the form of pollution it will have an affect you do not need map to figure this out man.

    i had mentioned this earlier have you ever been to china? the citys there are so jacked up with pollution its crazy! its seriously fucking gross dude. it all adds up over time to equal damage to the environment.

    i was taught to respect what we have so that there would be for others after me. its that simple its an obligation in my mind to at least try and leave this world a better place for future generations.

    give and take brother. pollution in all its forms has the ability to ruin a perfectly good area does it not? we hack down the rainforest but, we send out an exponential amount of air pollution every year we keep taking and not giving this is cause and effect in play is it not?

    i largely agree w/ you here... we certainly impact things, and pollution can be very bad,... ...but this thread is basically about "global warming", ..and the debate over whether or not the ensuing "crisis" is attributed to man-made carbon dioxide emissions, .. true or fraud?

    the word crisis keeps popping up why? i don't personally believe it will lead to an immediate crisis lol.

    but, given time it will keep tilting things in a direction toward the worse. the only difference between physical pollution and air pollution is the fact that you can see one you can pick one up and hold it. the other is just as bad or worse man it just happens to be invisible in most cases.

    i never want or have any plans to have children so if someone was going to be selfish it would be me lol. i guess i air on the side of caution if myself and others are wrong about this then the way i see it there will be no harm done. however if yourself and others are wrong well this world is not going to be in such great shape.

    there is a cycle that this planet would follow if we where not here and the climate changes all by itself with no outside interference at all sometimes dramatically. but knowing that we are emitting a metric fuck ton of substances that are known to further warm the planet it will at some point have an effect.

    either way even if you don't think its real or not keep an eye out read it up and who knows at least we are all interested in the subject on some level or another so thats as good a place to start as any :)

    ..well, i was just parroting the alarmist rhetoric, ..in using the word "crisis"... i personally don't believe there is a crisis.. i agree w/ you that emmitting combustion byproducts is probably not good for things... but remember everything is a tradeoff.. here where i live, we get about 90% of our electrical power from coal sources.. now, some do not like that at all, ..but it fuels our economy here, ..and allows me to spend waaaayyy too much time on the internet :D ...

    we should always try to improve things (efficiencies, reduced pollution, etc.) - and technologies are really taking off and bringing things around, ..but we should be weary of ideological/political motives, which is what the global cooling (1970's) > global warming (1990's) > climate change (today) is embroiled in..

    too

    and truth is seldom absolute , and in this case unproven either way

    this comes back to my comment about how polarized discussions have to be here .

    No room for discussion , it's all absolutes , black and white , right and wrong .

    Things are seldom that way .

    exactly i think more time should be spent in our way's and technology of fueling our world than the reasons why we all can agree thats it bad on some level. i just want the heads of things to move away from antiquated thinking and ways and begin making clean renewable power for all.

    at least some thing that would have far less impact than fossil fuels do.
