I do ZERO offroading, but wanted to get either the trd skid or a custom metal miller skid for a couple reasons.

    1. people seem to like leaving crap in the middle of the road around here, so I want it to do as little damage as possible if I run over it.
    2. I figured it would help deter people from stealing my catalytic converters if they ever got the idea to do so.

Should I just be cheap and get a TRD skid, or spend the extra money and get a metalmiller one?

    Thanks.

I just bought a snatch reciever from metalmiller, he's easy to do business with and makes quality stuff. My 2 cents if you're not tight on cash why not support a fellow tw member.

I've bought from metalmiller before. I got my autobot emblem for my front grill from him. I have no problem supporting a tw member. I was more looking for pros and cons of the two. I assume the metalmiller one is much better, but maybe heavier?

I doubt a skid will help deter cat theft but if you want protection from debris then metalmiller for sure. My skid is very stout and fit perfect

TRD Skidplates are basically for looks only (very weak), so if you do indeed ever decide to go off-roading or want it for frontal/undercarriage protection, I would go with a beefier skidplate.

    Good luck,

I have the TRD plate (I have a TRD Turck).
I will agree that the TRD plate is weak.
I wouldn't trust it off road.
