my friends mom works for a light company, she hooked me up haha. And yes, i tested em before i even took them home, one about out shined the headlights on my friend's mk4 gti...not sure how much of a comparison that is...but its what i compared them too at the time. they are leds, so it is a bright white basking sort of light spread. ill have to get them all hooked up and wired in so i can see if they are too bright to use on the roads. I am wiring them in tomorrow, cant wait to see how bright both of them are.

quick question on wiring...im going from battery to switch, out of switch with a single wire to both of the lights, i asked the guy at the auto parts store if i needed to up the size of the wire since i have 2 lights pulling off one wire and i dont want to under power them and he said no. If i had say one light hooked up to an 18ga power wire, i still dont get how 2 lights hooked up to the same 18ga power wire will provide the same amount of juice as one hooked up?

 

An old-school way of testing that was, if the wire gets warm (or hot ) you need a higher gauge wire.

 

It will work just fine electricity is a tricky thing. I have my fogs wired up the same way ( bat+ to fuse to Switch to lights then each light has it's own ground) however is you only provide one ground each light will take 50% of 12v or 6v each and be very dim. Just be sure to add a fuse into the mix before the switch.

 

you're setting them up in parallel instead of series. therefor they use the full 12v each and if one goes out the other will still work with out overloading the wiring or fuse

 

ok, so as long as each has its own ground ill be good and each light will get its full amount? also i can connect the ground leads to the same bolt as long as each light has its own ground wire right? im going to take the power out wire end from the switch, and the power wires for each of the lights and twist them all together in a connector (thats what the auto part guy said).

 

I would solder them and heat shrink the connection honestly, it takes a little more time but is much cleaner when done. Those twist caps are great for home wiring because it does't bounce around inside a wall but as far as automotive applications never twist the wires together and put a cap on it.
You can use the same bolt for the ground no problem. I'll pm you my number feel free to call if you have any questions.
