    Like ben said. Its not true. First, Titanium can be easilly cut. Second, I dont know of many emergencys in which the medics showed up and said "We cant save the man, unless we can get this dam ring off his finger!. Most issues with weding band accident involve the ring getting caught in something, and either crushing the finger, or removing it. In those cases, it makes no difference what matierial the ring was made from, the end results would be the same......unless the ring was paper, or plastic. Sadly, Most women dont view those materials in the same light as metals.

    Mine has never caused me any problems. (knock on wood) But I wonder if it's safe for the setting on my wife's? She has had this problem with hers. Hers is a diamond with 2 bands with diamond accents, 1 on each side like a wrap. My cheap way around the wrap. :eek: Looks just as good and cost about half as much. The 3 are soldered together.

    Hmmm... gonna have to have a chat with that jeweler :mad:

    I know it's not a life or death thing but if I do ever crush my hand, I'd rather they cut the ring off vs. my finger. I can think of plenty of times I've been in that situation where my fingers have blown up but never came close to losing a digit.

    One or two things modded... Check out the build thread
    stay away from the cobalt chrome rings then i have been told by many diff people not just jewelers but also medical people and safety people in the line of work i do that they can not cut it off they have to take your finger instead. on a side not those that have the tungsten rings be careful when handling it esp around ceramic tile floors. i had heard that if you drop one on a ceramic tile floor the ring can shatter(needless to say i didnt believe it) then when i was looking for my wedding ring the lady got one out and dropped it on the tile floor in the store and ping the ring shattered. that is why i chose the cobalt chrome, got a lifetime warranty and since they cant resize it when i need a new size i just mail it in and get a new one in the mail a few days later, they have to actually acid etch the inscription in the ring because it is too hard to engrave.

    Icon COs and rear resis, Deaver leafs. ARB locker in rear. ARB front bumper...Pissed at Gadget for abandoning the Rotrex 3.4 supercharger.
    My first ring was a tungsten and it caused the skin to peel completely off the ring finger in a perfect circle. Not good when working in healthcare. I was told that tungsten is mixed w nickel and many allergic responses are caused by nickel sensitivity....and it cracked from dropping from a seated position onto tile floor. New ring is a Scott Kay Cobalt. No problems so far.
