    hey so im pretty sure i need to unbolt the rear seat backs and take them right out to pull the plastic and put a sub box in a second gen double cab? i wasnt sure if it could be done with the seats left in.

    It is possible that it could be done with the seats left in, but it could depend on what box you are installing. Honestly, it is probably easier to remove the seats and have unimpeded access to the area you are working on.

    i installed one of these boxes in mine without haing to remove any of the seats. Just took out the plastic storage bins and dropped it right in.

    Ebay, it was about $100 with free shipping, fit right in beautifully, like it should have been there from the factory. Thats one part of my truck i havent taken pics of as of yet, but i can get some tomorrow and post them for you.

    Actually i just got that pic from ebay for this thread, just search Tacoma double 10" sub enclosure.

    i bought it as just the ox, but i know there are deals out there that include all of the above. I already had my subs and amp so just needed the box.

    ironic you should ask, i am working on uploading he pics now, give me a min and i will have them on here.

    And it sounds pretty damn good, all my stuff is kenwood, 2 kenwood 10's, kenwood amp, kenwood ddx512 head unit, kenwood door speakers, and added kenwood tweeters in the back doors (took that idea from lexus)

    BTW, as you can see in some of the pics of the box, i took the storage bins and cut them so the tops could be placed over the box. Made it look more finished, otherwise it was just plain metal.

    That's clean looking. I like the idea of cutting the top off to keep it better looking.

    Does the plastic on your seats rub the surround on your subs at all? Looks like they are touching or almost touching in the pics.

    My pic was copied and pasted straight from ebay, you can buy it loaded or empty, depending on the vendor.
    They dont touch, it's pretty darn close though. Gotta figure the angle of the seats keeps them away from the location of the subs.

    air thight, yes, mounting depth, i have no idea. But i'm sure you could figure that out pretty easy. Also, i considered porting the box, but i am happy with it the way it is.
