1st gen OEM oil filter #???

    sorry if i missed it but ive been looking for about an hour for the part # of the toyota oil filter for a 1st gen (1999). i herd they are about the best oil filter and i just need the filter # so i can buy a case of them from ebay. thanks

New carpet and new racing seats. ( other half doesnt like them i think). Nwor springs and adjustable coil overs. Sky jacker rear shocks. Slot and drilled rotors. Engine Titanium ceramic coated headers, no cat, jba cat back. URD Rear Sensor Simulator. Leds all around and inside cab and HID H4 hi/lo beams.

    90915-YZZB9 - Made in Japan. Replaces 90915-20003, which was discontinued. The best filter of them all, but it's also the most expensive, so most U.S. dealers don't stock it.

    90915-YZZD1 - Made in Thailand. It's second to the one made in Japan, but it's usually the least expensive. Going rate for it is $5 - $6 at dealers, or $4 - $5 on the Internet. This is the one that most dealers carry.

    90915-YZZG1 or 08922-02011 - Made in U.S.A. The cheapest-made version. The gasket isn't even pre-oiled. Dealers that stock this one charge more than dealers that stock the Thailand filter!

    went out and checked mine i have 08922-02011 mine is made in the usa.

    either one will work for ya.

    more like half of a cup for that filter he is talking about is only about inch longer i believe?

    Imo no difference to the engine.

    It's a slightly taller filter, designed for (among other things) 2nd Gen Tacomas' 4.0L engines. They work equally well on the 3.4L. I think I end up using about an extra 1/2 quart of oil due to the filter's increased height, so it's not a big deal. I figure a few extra square inches of filter media are a good things...

    I went to the toyota owners website, looked up filter and recommended my my 1995 v6 to use the D1. Can I use the D3? I can get the D3 for $6.
    Please advise. I've been using crap fram for 186K miles...hehehe maybe not crap....:rolleyes:

    The D3 works perfectly. The D1 and D3 are phsically identical, but the D3 is slightly longer. They have the same diameter and the same thread pitch. I've got a D3 on my truck as we speak and a case in the garage.

    I noticed that my mechanic put on a D3 when I brought my truck in for a 30K service. Its longer than than the D1, which is what I use when I change my own oil. More filter area isn't a bad thing.

    What sucks is I picked up a case of 10 D1's just prior to discovering the D3. But they were only $3.49 each so I guess I can live with the D1's. LOL
