Off the topic at hand, but why is there still a ball joint on the spindle?

its the first style camburg kit

thats for the new style burg kit, the old style burg kit uses a standard 8 inch coil over

Take the spring off , and connect the spindle to the UCA get a wheel on there, and jack under and cycle it to make sure everything is good and clear.

And your problem is that the coilover mount is for Sway Away Shocks , since they have a smaller compressed and ex. length i think. You need the other type of coilover mounts like i had for sale before i showed you.
They have the notch in the middle of the mount so they mount the coilover higher up. you can make the one you have work for now,but cycle it to see .

Also that hose is going to hit the upper arm during bump. It has to point down or straight up

Thats a good idea to get close, but since the upper mount is wrong its going to limit bump travel. We were planning on mounting the bump stops tomorrow. So unless your willing to wait for the upper mounts you may have to call SDHQ

Yup. Its going to limit travel. When i called Total Chaos they wanted $158 for the mounts, some stuff Camburg has is cheaper so maybe it might be. Unless you make some . Really simple to . And yea JD is right turn the hose fitting down and hose under the arm.

Oh yeah and i think ive read that some tacoma kits cant use Flat type coil spring retainers. cuase they hit the mount. Hopefully you dont run into that.

yeah man i remember reading yours with the spindle right? shit sucks man

all of the pre load is out
im thinking the same thing. im going to call camburg and sdhq tomorrow am and see what they can do
ill do that if i have too, but i think i just need to get the correct top mounts and that will help out alot i think. my dad got the shock on, but he had to take out the axle to get the lower to droop down lower.

okay we tried to move it.... how?
yeah i want to do it right so i dont need to do it twice
    158 for those is crazyy
hit which mount? the lower shock mounts?
why would i need to take apart the lower bj to get the shock on? the collar is all the way at the top and i can move the spring up and down a inch or 2.

Ok, so the spring retainer doesnt hit the shock mount good. I belive you that its a 8". My guess the kit doesnt run a 8" but a 6" since its ball joint. But maybe not. Move the arm all the way up out of the way then get the coilover in the bucket then bolt the bottom and get a jack under the lower and bring it up just enough to bolt the upper arm to the spindle. .give camburg a call. As for the hose get a wrench that fits that fitting and turn the hose down.
