About a year ago i had my interstate battery in my taco replaced (pro-rated) because it was no good. Had to pay $40 to get another one.

Now, just under a year...another interstate battery took a shit. I had to jump it after leaving the dome light on in my truck for 2 hours (completely dead), and a day later, its completely dead again.

    WTF.

I cant drop the cash on a new battery right now, and I am definitely not getting another interstate.

Anyone else have issues with interstate batteries??

    Just needed to rant...

probably will go that route when I have to...I am not working at the moment...so a new battery isn't at the top of the priority list.

I would love to get a optimax yellow top...but that will be later down the line.

    ...too much shit to list.
I've owned several Interstates in the past and never had a problem with them. But I never let them discharg either.

What's you're alternator putting out? Multiple consecutive bad batteries is normally an indication of something else wrong.

Thats rough man. I had interstate's in several of my cars in the past, never had one problem with them. Although the wild weather of Socal, with an average year round temp of 72 or something I'm sure is a factor somewhere in the equation.

I'm actually running a kirkland (costco) house brand battery. It's been great for the past 4 years, no problems. And as with all costco related items, they have some ridiculous money back program where they prorate your purchase price based on months of usage. So if/when it takes a dump they will give me some kind of credit towards a new battery.

Let it out, Brosef... we're here for you.

I haven't changed my battery since I bought the truck in 1999. Pretty sure it's the one that came with the truck.

And I have no idea what brand it is.

Check for good ground, too. 2 hour dome light killing a new battery seems odd. A bad/loose ground can kill one fast. My wife's truck killed a battery and then started throwing codes and being hard to start. Cleaned or replaced some of the grounding straps at the batt and body to chassis. Fixed the problem right away.

    True story.

    Oops:eek:

All I know is ever since I bought one duralast, I have never bought another. I just keep bringing in dead ones from our other vehicles saying it went bad and they give me a new one

Maybe the Autozone I go to is full of retards :notsure:

Ok, so I am getting 14.26 VDC coming through the battery when the truck is running...so the alternator is fine.

I will go through the grounds tonight.

And even if the duralast is just 3 yrs replacement...it better then having to pay $40 after a year to get another battery

 prolly guys in redshirts, yea there are some autozones who have some people they shouldn't hire lol. But yea derpylast gold has the most cranking amps, if you were on a budget the valuecrap are the cheapest, but won't last you more than a year. Our trucks require a 27 series, or a 24 series will fit. As long as you have warranty on a battery give the right phone number, you shouldn't have any problem getting one swapped, if you do, call the district manager which is usually taped to the front door(it should be) DM's HATE being bitched at by customers  I know ours does!

Nice, good to know. Yeah I just keep giving them my phone number and they see that I bought a duralast gold battery for my old 83 bronco in 2006. Automatic new battery every time:D

Ive used this on my mom's suburban, our Chris Craft boat, and my tacoma.

I have an Interstate from NTB. 85 month battery with 3yrs replacement if I remember correctly. It's in my step-daughters car. It went after a yr. They replaced it free of charge and told me the warranty started over with the new one so I can't complain. But I was shocked when I got in the car to move it and it barely turned over. Luckily she didn't get stranded in it. Of course the NTB guy was shocked too, saying he RARELY sees one go bad like that.

Interstate and Duralast are both made by Johnson controls. So if you're having isues with one, you will not do better necessarily by swapping to another. I have an Interstate in my and haven't had any issues.

There are 2 types of interstates. We have them at work. The "black" one and the green and white one. The G and W version seems to be a lot better. I have a lot of luck with them. Had one last well over 11 years and still worked when I got rid of the car. The black ones however, get returned a lot more often and we stay away from them if possible.
