Busy day today. I was enlisted to help bake some more cookies today and to make the frosting for the cookies. I never did have the time to continue on with the shed.

Tomorrow is a washout as well. I have an appointment to have 2 tires installed on the car and I am helping to shovel and tamp bluestone along the driveway at our church. I will be bushed when tomorrow is finished. It looks like we have 10 cuyd's of bluestone.

Doing good Susan...getting ready for Christmas...Friday and Saturday are going to be really busy...we have a house full for Christmas Eve dinner...we start getting things ready on Friday and cook it all on Saturday...we have an 18 lb. ham, mashed tators, corn, string bean casserole, pineapple souffle, sweet potatoes, beer, wine, soda, and assorted desserts(cookies, chocolate covered pretzels, chocolate raspberry bundt cake)...a lot of work, but it gets family and friends together for a good night...How are you doing...how is Zoie doing??

Sounds like a really fun weekend with lots of good eats.

I'm gonna help my son move and spend some time with them.

She is doing "fine". She's not favoring the leg, but she's not allowed to walk or run (you ever try to keep a 54 lb high energy lab calm for a week ) until Wed. She's started BARKING again due to having so much energy.

Took her back to the vet saturday for a followup and he said she's "cow hocked". He said her hips could be bad :( Did some research on line and it said it doesn't necessarily mean bad hips, but she could have issues. He wants to xray her and see if it is her hips... since she's still growing, I'm gonna hold off a couple of months and see.

Good morning, everyone!! Off to meet a friend for breakfast and then back to work on my PhD dissertation proposal and do a few small chores around the house.

Sending good thoughts for your sweet Zoie, Susan!!

I just realized why I wake up so early every morning - it's a medical condition. Restless Lab Syndrome!

Have a good time with your son and his family...moving is something I hope I don't have to do again...we still have stuff in the basement in boxes that we packed up eight yrs. ago when we moved here:eek::rolleyes:...

Glad to hear she is doing better... hope everything is okay with her hips. My son has a king sheperd and she has a hip problem. She is 8 yrs. old and at times has trouble walking but they have pills the vet gave them so she can live as close to a normal life as possible...hopefully Zoie's problem is growing pains. Keep us posted...Ken

Sue, Do not x ray till she is 2 years old, there is still growing going on. Sometimes dogs just get growing pains from one leg or hip not growing fast as the other. If she is under 18 mo or so not to worry. Our old dog now over 14 has been cow hocked forever but has good hips from the OFA.. Jim:)

We still have 5 more tons of crushed rock to move, spread and tamp along the driveway at church. I will be there at 10 this morning. I need to look in the attic this morning for some leftover audio system install stuff for another Maryland member.

This week is just getting busier and busier as it goes along. ;)

Thanks Mark. Good luck with your dissertation

I have that same medical condition... :D

A dog I had back in the 90's had bad hips. They didn't really start to bother her until she was about 10. When they started going, they went really fast. She also had something wrong with her back that caused her lots of pain.

When he first told me about her hocks, I was thinking about getting her xrayed next week... then I started researching on the interwebz. Thanks for the tip. She's almost 8 months old. After watching her lately, I'm thinking maybe she does have bad hips - She bunny hops when she runs :( I can only hope that it's because of growing pains. But no more runs with the bike (and the barking has started again)

I think you'd go stir crazy if you had to sit for more than 10 minutes

morning all: how did we ever have time to ''WORK" ? darn there's that bad word again.
just ran to phone- a telemarket call. I have an unlisted #. really annoys me that these :censored: just dial random #'s and can get through to people with unlisted #'s. I really don't get that many, but it's the idea. don't remember if I'm on the do not call list.

The do not call list really does not matter Carl. I detest sales, political information and survey calls. How dare them come into my house uninvited.

Just a pet peeve of mine.

Gets down off of soap box.

The ones that bug me the most are from my cable company trying to sucker me in for phone / HDTV / etc... they say "it'll be less than you are paying now" Yeah, for what 6 or 12 months and then go up past what I'm paying now, so NO THANKS!!!
