Original ipod Nano recalled in US

so are people actually sending theirs in? I still haven't recieved the box from apple yet

 

yes some have, you get a box or a squished envelope like me...

 

Just looked up my request. It's from Nov. 17th and I haven't gotten anything. How long did everyone else wait?

This is what they sent back, its a 8gb silver 6th gen, its new not refurbished. For those of you who requested a box to ship it in, did they give you a choice on how to do it? When I called, they asked if I wanted to drop it off at ups or get a box in the mail, I opted for drop off since I work next to a ups store and they been fairly quick about it, from send out to getting it back took 5 weeks.

I wonder if they would allow you to pay a prorated amount or some sort of calculated amount to upgrade to a touch? Hmmm

 

thats what i wanna know, since its new, if i could take it to the apple store and get credit towards a touch?

 

In case you're interested, Target has the Touch and Ipads with a $40 Target gift card with purchase this week. I want one but me and my wife said we wouldn't spend much on each other. But she knows I want one so I can't go buy one anyway since Christmas is so close. I doubt she has got me one but still. I did inconspicuously mention the deal they had though.

i saw two responses that say they are sending out refurb 6th gen nanos....

 

did you check the serial number on your "new" one?

 

why would he?

 

to see if its new or refurbished. ive had plenty of reburbished electronics and they always screw up, and if thats the case, i have as good a chance with my ipod than the refurb 6th gen.

although the memory is an upgrade, essentially they want to replace my item i bought new for a different item that cost $70 less and its refurbed which decreases the value even more

so they are replacing my $200 ipod that was new, with a $115 refurbished ipod, atleast thats what i found them on ebay for.

 

you cant expect to get an amount for what you paid 5 years ago. What do you think its worth now? Whats a refurb 6th gen worth? .. If you wreck a 5 year old car, does the insurance company pay you what your car was worth brand new? Or do they give you enough to replace it with something comparable?
